The woman was now unconcious on the floor, Dakota trembling with leftover anger and exhaustion

Dakota complied quietly, knowing the punishment would likely be severe and Nate wouldn't be too happy....

Dakota sat, her leg bouncing in stress. Shit. Of course I didn't just run, why couldn't I have just done that? She thought, denial sweeping her away

Dakota took a moment to gather her racing thoughts, clearing her throat. "Before I say my side of the story, that woman-my biological mother-used to abuse me as a child a practically tossed me to the streets as soon as I turned 18. My baby monitor went off on a trail ride with my husband-who I better get told is taking care of him-and saw a mystery figure of a person. In case you forgot, that's breaking and entering. Now, when I got to the house, I followed the second amendment-the right to bear arms-and defended my home. I then was unable to catch up to the figure on-foot after an attempted attack on me from her. I followed in my truck and my husband was shot in an attempt to take my son back-kidnapping is illegal in case you guys need that for your record. I then entered the house, my own childhood house, and was confronted by my mother who took my child. I then used self defense to protect my son and I. Need anything else?"
