I had trouble drifting asleep that night, and when the alarm on my watch silently awoke me, I slipped out of bed, changing into my work clothes before heading downstairs, grabbing a suit jacket before grabbing my computer bag, hopping in the Corvette before driving over to work. |

My day was long, consisting of drinking everything down and meetings every hour with even more idiotic clients----paid well, though. Eventually afterwards I slipped back into the car, jacket getting tossed into the passenger's seat, tie loosened, sleeves rolled up, and top button undone so I could finally breathe. I pulled out of the lot, heading to the liquor store before picking up a few refills. |
