Then, without another word, he closed the distance between them, kissing her gently but with enough warmth to make it clear he wasn’t backing down. |

"But I think patience will make it even better." He kept his hand relaxed, resting near her without moving in any closer. "So, guess you’ll just have to wait a bit longer," he added with a grin, giving her space while still holding her attention. |

Mean?" he teased, leaning slightly closer, his voice dropping a little lower. "I’m just keeping you on your toes, Rose." He rested back into the pillow, his arm casually draping over his own side. "You’re the one scooting closer," he added with a grin, watching her intently. "Guess you like the ‘mean’ side of me, huh?" His eyes flicked to her lips, then back to her eyes, the teasing tone not leaving his voice.
