"Time to get up?" She asked |

"Only if you want to." Caden replies tiredly,squinting his eyes as the sun shined through the blinds. |

"Well I have practice at 10:30, so probably." She said, getting up and stretching |

"Alright,I have practice in twenty minutes so yeah,I agree." He says,standing and walking to the bathroom before brushing his teeth and combing out his hair.Caden pulled on a pair of shorts and a t-shirt,tugging on some socks and making breakfast before eating. |

Rose got dressed for practice, intending to go to the gym afterwards, and grabbed her shoes. She didn't eat, hardly doing so recently. |

"Ok im off to practice,uh don't take the camero or black McLaren,their both jacked up in the engine.Love you!" He called before dashing out the door,and going to practice. --- Caden lined up on the field, sweat already forming under the blazing Arizona sun. As a lineman for the Arizona State Dodgers, he knew today’s practice was going to be tough. The whistle blew, and he squared off against a defender. The sound of helmets clashing filled the air as Caden pushed forward, planting his feet and driving his legs to maintain his ground. The defender tried to slip past with a swim move, but Caden anticipated it, using his hands and strength to keep him at bay. “Keep that base low!” the coach shouted from the sideline. After the drill, his muscles burned, but there was no time to rest. Next came pass protection. Caden faced off with a defensive lineman, his heart pounding as the rusher charged. He planted his feet, absorbed the hit, and used his arms to redirect the defender away from the quarterback. The whistle blew again, and Caden stepped back, tired but satisfied. Another day on the field, pushing through the pain, inching closer to game day readiness. |

Rose nodded. "Love you too!" She called, scrolling until she needed to leave. She just took her car, driving to practice and hating the drills they were going through. Luckily, nobody had asked her about Caden yet and that was a relief for the moment. Rose finished around 2pm, texting Caden quickly. Gonna go to the gym. Love you. She sent the text and began the drive to the gym |

His body was sore, every muscle aching from the constant contact, but it was the kind of pain he welcomed—it meant he was improving, getting stronger. He jogged to the sideline, grabbing a bottle and downing a few gulps of water. The other linemen gathered around, a few of them exchanging brief words about their last rep. Caden glanced over at the defensive line, seeing their coach barking out instructions. They were hungry, just like him, eager for the competition. “Alright, let’s finish strong!” Coach’s voice cut through the chatter, rallying the team. Caden tossed the water bottle aside, wiping his mouth, ready for the next round. There was no room for slowing down, not now. He wasn’t going to let the grind break him. As the team huddled up for the final drill—an intense scrimmage—Caden took his position. The adrenaline kicked in again, and the noise of the field seemed to fade as he locked eyes with his opponent. This was it. The moment where everything he’d practiced would be tested. He took a deep breath, focusing, and when the ball was snapped, he surged forward, ready to hold his ground, one block at a time. Practice may have been grueling, but Caden was used to it. Every hit, every bruise, was just another step toward being the best. |
