Dakota woke the next morning and went to feed Secret. "Hey, girl." She said, pouring the mare's grain and refilling the water bucket. She walked back inside and ignored food, not hungry again for the hundredth time this week. Morning she sent the text before going to do laundry

Dakota's week went by as though Nate had never talked to her. She had signed up for a rodeo that weekend, and packed up to go the half hour drive to the grounds. She competed and got third in both barrels and poles before packing up and going home. She unloaded her stuff and fed Secret Sunday night before heading to bed
