NOVEMBER 14th, 1792 ~ GALE : AGE 27 ~ ~SETTLED UNDER AN OLD SPRUCE TREE ~ The days have been long, though now they're getting shorter as winter approaches rapidly. I can feel the breezes getting colder, freezing my insides into a solid at points. The ghosts I call memories have been haunting me, the winter ones becoming more prominent as the days tick by. I like to believe my time here is shortning, and my death day is approaching, as the hunt for me has become more rapid as I have seen the hounds the kingdoms use. I do wish to take refuge at my father's kingdom, though he didn't know who I was since my mother faked my death as an infant. It was foreign, if i'm honest. Sombody not knowing who you are when you're a famous crimebag across nations is. . . shocking. Every corner I turn, every tavern I walk into, everybody knows me. There's always a group of guards wondering who the cloaked figure is, and a group of women admiring my kill of a recent annoying figure. Though I do know Kayla will attack like a dog, breaking a few bones in the process before walking away unharmed. It's strange, having somebody care for you. Especially after stealing her from the only life she ever knew. Some days I catch her staring off into the distance, and regret of ever taking her floods my mind. Does she miss her old life? Had I stolen everything from her? My main purpose with her was to take her, sell her, get the money, and continue on to the next kingdom. Though after she helped me through the dark woods of that period of my life, I realized she was one I could keep. I still have the plan I was going to use to sell her stashed in the back of my mind, never forgeting just in case. Just in case. ---------______________---------- Gale scribbled in a notebook, folding it and slipping it back into his pocket before standing and walking over to Kayla. |

"Any plans on where to go next?" Gale asked, squinting his eyes at the sun. |

"No" She snapped quietly. He should've let me fucking kill those guards. I would have been fine! He was overreacting. We would be safe. She thought, sighing |

Gale heard a snap of brush, snapping his head back and seeing the group of guards emerging all around them like snakes. His eyes narrowed as he sized up every guard and their weapon, finding a quick path out. One aimed for him, the arrow catching him in the shoulder as he gripped his knife tighter. Gale yanked the arrow out, slipping it into his quivel. |

Kayla launched at a pair, slitting both their throats easily before being taken down by a third |

"Yep, that's why I said to not attack them." Gale muttered, rubbing his temple. "Gale Hummendeaus, been a long, long time. Haven't seen you since Varys got ya," A guard snarled as he approached Gale, Gale instantly reckognizing who the man was. "You." Gale murmured under his breath, the guard smirking. "And who's your lady?" The man hesitated, about to say Kayla before remembering that'd be suspicious. "Eliza," He muttered, casting a glance at Kayla to just go with it. |
