Rose woke stiffly at the sound of Caden's drawers. "Hey" She said, voice thick with sleep
| |

"Hey," He greeted hoarsely, having drank a bit more rum earlier, breath smelling of it as he shut the door to the bathroom and turned on the water.
| |

Rose just looked at the bathroom door curiously, watching for a moment before turning the other way and curling into a ball. She sighed, unable to fall back asleep, and went downstairs to pour herself a glass of wine

Caden came out a while later, tossing his dirty clothes aside and coming out in a pair of sweats, Murphy running up to him.
| |

Rose didn't bat an eyelash at the dog's scittering nauls on the floor. She sipped her wine
| |

"Hey bubs," He greeted, picking the dog up like a baby as he pecked Rose's cheek as he went by. "Hey," Caden greeted her, manuvering and pouring himself a glass of whiskey on ice and sipping on it--all while he was holding Murphy.

| |

Rose didn't respond, her lost in thought
| |

Murphy wined, which he usually didn't do as Caden let the dog down, who now looked winded after running over to him. Caden set his glass down, crouching down to be level with him. "Bubs, you aren't even that old," He muttered, knowing the dog was only seven.

| |

Rose watched the two silently
| |

Murphy just wagged his tail and licked his hand, Caden shrugging before letting him go. He stood and grabbed his glass and sat on the couch, turning on the TV.
