Axel tugged Duncan towards the bed, letting them both get comfortable there. He sensed that Duncan needed him, so he stuck close, holding him tightly. "Did they talk about treatment options at all," he asked softly after a moment, anger boiling in his chest when he thought about how they hadn't let him stay. Duncan had needed him, and he couldn't be there.

Duncan nodded, clinging onto him tight. "Yeah... chemo and I'll have to start using a nasal cannula, maybe even a oxygen mask for 'strenuous activites'..." he sniffled. "I have to tell Kai first..."

Axel nodded softly, just pressing a soft kiss to Duncan's forehead. "Ok," he noted. "Want me to come with?" The guards would probably argue but he wasn't leaving Duncan's side, not now.

Duncan shook his head. "No, I'll just call him down here, I don't wanna get up," he muttered slapping at the bell that called the guards into the room. The guards entered awaiting instruction. "Go get Kai please," Duncan said, still buried in Axels chest. The guards nodded and hurried off, going to get Kai. A little while later, the guards came back with the king. "Yes?" Kai asked. Duncan whimpered and began to cry again. How was he going to tell him?

Axel nodded when Duncan said he didn't want to get up, humming a soft agreement. When kai arrived and Duncan just buried into his chest, he let out a soft breath. "Want me to explain," he asked softly, understanding if Duncan couldn't quite wrap his head around it and explain it at the moment. It was still fresh news.

Duncan nodded, Kai stood there, waiting, rather confused.

Axel nodded and pecked his head before slipping out from the hold and moving towards kai, leading him towards the corner of the room where he explained the situation as calmly as he could. He was clearly very upset about it, but he was pushing his emotions down as much as possible....Duncan needed him calm.

Duncan remained in bed, clinging onto a pillow. Kai was extemely surprised but also just broken. He couldn't believe that his little brother... Kai nodded, trying to keep his composure. "...Okay, I'll leave you two be for a little," he whispered, exitting quickly.

Axel nodding when Kai said he'd leave them alone for a while, humming a quick "you're welcome whenever you want to pop in," letting him know he could come whenever. Then he just moved back to Duncan, curling up again.

Duncan let go of the pillow and curled into him immediately. He leaned up and tugged him down, kissing him. He wanted normal, he wanted Axel. The guards came in a little bit later, "Sir? The king has permitted for Axel to move freely and for Axel to move in with you," the guards informed him but Duncan hadn't stopped kissing him. He waved his hand and the guards disappeared.
