"I rode a bull once, and this happened." She stated, showing a scar that ran from her upper chest, right down to her lower hip. "I didn't want to, but my parents forced me to, and that bull was really aggressive, and I got gored." |

"Don't talk about it much but, this is the aftermath of my first NFR. We had to burn it shut there otherwise i'd bleed out." He said quietly, lifting the back of his shirt to show a ominous and jagged scar running from his right shoulder to the base of his back. |

"Damn. I hope I didn't make you uncomfortable with that in any way." She stated, apologetically. |

"I mean yeah it always is talking about it but, I need to get used to opening up and stuff. Kinda have just been letting it rot for years," He noted quietly, looking over at her. "Only told you since I trust you." |

"Same, you're the only one who knows about my scars. After I got gored, my parents told me to 'walk it off', to get over it. I had to have thirty-six stitches in my side, four in my one hand, six in my neck, and ten in my thigh." She stated. "I had to have physical therapy, no horse riding, nothing." |

"For this one I had to stay in the hospital for two weeks for, kept getting infected or ripped open if I moved. Had to be strapped down since I was determined to move, and too stubborn to listen. They said the hide they used to burn the cut was dirty, which meant there was dirt in it, which meant they had to go tear it all open again and. . . let's just say two or three nurses got punched." He mused with a chuckle, looking back over to her.
"And i'm glad you trust me, Lil, I really am." |

"You're the only one who desn't judge me, or pitch fits about helping me out. Before I decided to run an abuse safe shelter here, protecting people from abusive situations, some ld friends of mine... they purposefully broke things, and it got so bad, that they decided to ride my one colt, a year and a half old, and he shattered both proximal sesamoid bones. I had to put him down, and that was a wasted 50k for his breeding, due to who his dam and sire were. They claimed I was overreacting when I cut them off. At one point, they threw an untrained, non-vet checked bull in with my foals, and I got trampled, trying to get him out." She stated. |

"It's not your fault, some people are just like that." She responded. "I still see them around town, but I just act they don't exist." |

"Hey, at least it's just friends, you can always just forget about them, doesn't mean you'll forgive but, at least you can forget. Parents? Not so much..." He trailed off. |
