Alora shook her head. "Axel, don't talk about yourself like that," she whispered. "Duncan won't give up on you, and you shouldn't either. I believe in you. Kai does too, he just doesn't really show it. You can learn to live here if you want. Or you don't have to, but you still can stay here. Duncan will never come into a position of power, and no matter what happens, whether you guys get married or break up, you don't ever have to be seen in the public eye if you don't want to. But if you want to learn, its possible. I have a good friend from another continent who married her Head Warrior of her army, and now they're King and Queen. You can learn, I'll even help you if you want,"

Axel just frowned slightly as she spoke, but nodded slowly with a heavy breath of air. "I hope you're right," he noted quietly. He really did hope she was right, but hope had gotten him hurt in the past, and he was wary of it. But if he could learn, and if he could try to fit in....that might be a good thing. "I can try," he offered. "Let's just focus on Duncan for now," he added, though, knowing that his own problems could be pushed out of the forefront of things right now.

Alora nodded. "Okay, whatever you need Axel," she said with a soft smile. "Do you want me to stay for a little? Or do you need some alone time?" she asked.
| |

Axel nodded when she agreed, humming softly in thought at her other comments. "I don't care," he admitted. "You should probably be with Duncan, shouldn't you," he added after a moment, not wanting him to need her when she wasn't there.

Alora shook her head. "Duncan has Kai right now, and either way they're both asleep. What do you need, Axel?"
| |

Axel was caught a little bit off guard at her question, trying to think through it. He didn't know what he needed. What he wanted. Not for himself. He needed Duncan to be alright....other than that, he just wasn't sure. "I don't know," he admitted softly after a moment or so. "I think I'm still trying to process a lot of this."

Alora nodded. "Okay, well, lets start easy. Would you like me to stay or go?"
| |

Axel nodded, biting his lip as he thought about the question, letting out a soft sigh after a moment or so. "I should try to sleep," he admitted. "You don't need to stay," he added. He honestly didn't care if she stayed or not, but he supposed he should try to sleep. He didn't want to worry Duncan.

Alora nodded. "Okay, well, sleep well, Axel," she hummed lightly, getting up and walking back up to Duncans room.
| |

Axel nodded, humming a soft thanks to her before moving to flop into the bed with a sigh. He didn't fall asleep right away...not until closer to dawn, but eventually he did manage to pass out.
