Duncan considered it. He didn't want Axel to see this. "...no, I'll be out in a minute..." he mumbled, rinsing off, getting out and cleaning up the hair as best he could. Duncan knew Axel would be able to tell what was going on once he stepped out of the bathroom, as he had noticeable bald spots now. He got dressed and stepped out of the bathroom still in tears.

Axel nodded, humming a soft "alright" and backing off, not wanting to intrude on Duncan's space. He did keep an ear out for anything else though, or if he got any worse. When he slipped out of the bathroom, he noticed the reason for the tears right away, face softening slightly as he opened his arms for Duncan to flop into if he wanted to. "Want to talk about it," he offered. If not he wouldn't push. He never did.

Duncan broke down, burying himself in Axels embrace. "...what do I do?" he whispered, sobbing.

Axel just wrapped his arms around Duncan tightly, just letting him curl in. At his question, he was quiet for a moment, pressing a kiss to his head gently. "What you've been doing," he noted softly. "Take some time to cry. Let it all out. Then get up and keep fighting, next to me, and keep moving. Even if it's only half a step forward." It seemed deep, but it was quite simple really. At least, that's how he saw it. Just keep fighting.

Duncan cried harder. It was nice to hear, even if it wasn't what he meant. "...I'm losing my hair..." he cried.

| |

Axel just nodded along, a soft hum rising in his throat. "It's alright," he noted softly. "We can always get a whole g if you're more comfortable with it," he added. "And when your treatment is done and you're healthy, it'll all grow back."

Duncan sniffled. They'd figure it out surely... "... can you just help me shave it?" he asked.
| |

Axel nodded with a soft hum, shrugging after a moment. "Maybe. But they don't matter. If it makes you feel more confident then wear one," he noted. But when he asked about shaving his head, he nodded. "Of course," he noted gently.

Duncan nodded. When he calmed down, he moved with Axel to the bathroom and sat on the edge of the tub, waiting, watching his hands.

Axel had followed Duncan to the bathroom, settling him down and placing a towel over his neck so the hair flaking wouldn't get itchy or anything before rummaging around for the clippers. "Ready," he asked gently, before he started, not wanting to start all of a sudden and overwhelm him any more than he already was.
