"She's knocked out Sage..." Maxine blurted she didn't know how exactly she knew for sure but she was certain of her answer as she drew Roxie's hair away from her face more "Oh geez..." she shivered feeling a divot in the side of her head... pushing her hair aside she found a fraction of her skull missing she looked up at Sage "This can't mean good news..." she muttered. |

Sage huffed out a breath. "And you say I'm the one who always gets into trouble," he muttered, even though he knew Roxie couldn't hear him. He sighed and pressed his hand against Roxies head, pulsing a bit of energy to close the wound and picked her up, carrying her over to the couch, wondering what happened. |

Maxine was quick to start healing the rest of her wounds as soon as Roxie was settled on the couch "This seems weird..." Maxine admitted "It's like whoever did this wanted her to suffer instead of outright killing her... Which doesn't make any sense..." She said glancing up at Sage "Unless they were trying to get information from her..." She pointed out taking her hand away when she heard Roxies heartbeat steady. After a few moments Roxies eyes opened... She blinked a few times before her eyes settled on Sage as Maxine had gone to look after Charlie and put on some proper clothing "They're coming..." Roxie said "The rival demons I told you about... They're coming..." She blurted quickly putting a hand on her head and wincing "I'm sorry..." She murmured she looked as if she wanted to explain more but she didn't have the strength to do so... Eventually Max came out with Charlie and saw that Roxie was awake... The women gave them a sympathetic and apologetic look and Max couldn't help but wondered what they'd done to her to make her look so... Broken... In both body and spirit... Sure she hated Roxie... But that firey ambitious look she always seemed to have was gone... She wasn't scheming this time... For the first time since she'd met her... She saw that Roxie who was usually two steps ahead didn't even know what the next move would... Or should be. |

Sage's jaw tightened and he looked out the window, thinking. If they could do this to Roxie, they had a strong army. After a few moments he looked back at Roxie steadily. "Then we're at war. And if you're death, you'd better pull yourself together since you're in charge of everyone else who'd be fighting in this war." He leaned against the wall and stared at her, a light in his eyes that hadn't shown up in a long time. "We're going to fight, and we're going to win. We have death on our side, and a demon that isn't chai.ed to him. They can't track me." He would the the most valuable asset to this war, especially since he'd killed Roxie and was stronger than her. "You get the night to rest. Then we start bettle plans. They're an attack heavy army, so we hit them harder when they least except it, with a fighting style they have a hard time defending against." He looked over at Max sympathetically, knowing this would be hard on her. "Your job is to take care of Charlie. Only that, alright?" |

Roxie nodded "I know I know..." She groaned softly "I'm sorry..." She muttered softly with a huff as she tried to sit up before giving up completely when he told her she had the night to rest, she gave a nod "Okay." She nodded "Thank you... I didn't know where else to go but here..." She said giving a nod "Yes we'll do that." She said her eyes fluttering closed but when Max walked in she opened her eyes feeling sympathy for their newest demon. Maxine glanced down at Charlie in her arms before giving a small nod "I understand..." She said reluctantly "Just come back to me okay?" She told him "Please... Wherever we are find us and come back to us when this is over..." She told him nuzzling close to him "I love you okay?" She said gently. |

Sage wrapped his arms around her with a sigh. "I love you too. I promise I'll always come back to you." He was worried...a demon war wasn't something to be taken lightly...but Max and Charlie could stay out of it since they weren't full demons. Roxie and he would develop war plans...hopefully not too many demons would be killed. |

Roxie gave a small apologetic sigh "If you don't believe him ask Fate... She'll know better then anyone." She nodded "And she might be able to help protect you and Charlie..." Maxine shook her head "No... I have faith in my fiancee... He will come back and we will get married as soon as we can after that." She nodded trying to sound confident. |

Sage put a hand on Max's shoulder and nodded confidently. "Roxie, I appreciate the offer, but Max can fight. And you'll need me on the front lines of this battle. I'm the best you've got." It was true, he was second in terms of strength only to Death, and Roxie couldn't be on the front lines .. she couldn't afford to be killed or captured. It'd be up to him to lead the armies, with Roxie working behind the front lines. |

Maxine nodded "I can handle myself." she said seeming to be trying to reassure herself as well. Roxie gave a nod before she looked at Sage "I know you are..." she said "But I'm staying on the front lines." she said firmly removing a ring from her finger and offering it to Sage "If I die you'll be the next death." she nodded firmly "You've more then earned the title... You and your family more then deserve to be treated like royalty after everything I put you through." |

Sage stared at Roxie in surprise for a moment before taking the ring. It was a good idea...even if she was killed the enemy would gain Death and the powers that came with the title. "Roxie, you might be older and probably wiser than me, but if there's anything I know it's fighting. I know you want to stay in the front, but your a long distance fighter...you'll do much more good in the back." |
