Duncan nodded, "Okay, let me know if you need to take a minute, I promise, its okay," he hummed lightly to him, leaning over and pecking his cheek. Eventually the two of them were forced to go down into the crowds. Duncan only spoke with a few people as he didn't like socializing either. Duncan tugged on Axels hand, bringing him over to the dance floor happily as a slower song began to play. He put his arms on Axels shoulders and told him where to place his hands before just gently swaying to the music. Duncan couldn't do much else or he'd get out of breath, but he was happy.

Axel nodded, the smile and peck calming him a little bit further. Initially, going into the crowd itself was rough, but once they started dancing he found himself just focusing on Duncan and the music, and that made everything easier. He did enjoy just holding him, swaying along to the music...it was nice, in a way.

Duncan smiled, resting his head on Axels shoulder, gently swaying to the music. He caught someone out of the corner of his eye, "...shit," he mumbled. "Princess Adriata is here," he whispered. "Shes the one I dated for a while and things ended badly..."

Axel had given Duncan a curious look when he swore, though understood immediately. "So we don't like her, got it," he noted, shooting the woman a glare despite the fact that her back was turned. "Don't worry, I'll keep her away from you," he added.

Duncan nodded, closing his eyes and pushing those thoughts to the back of his mind, focusing on Axel and their swaying to the music.

Axel knew Duncan and the princess didn't get along, so he sort of wondered why she'd even been invited to this thing, but he didn't want to grill Duncan right then. Instead, he chose to focus on their dancing as well and just try to enjoy it, despite the noise and crowd.

Duncan just swayed with him for a while longer before squeezing Axels hand tightly, telling him he needed to go. He was getting tired and all the socializing was getting to him.

|
Axel was just as eager to go, so he wasted no time slipping out and away from the crowd. His nerves were about as frayed as they could get, so escaping into the quiet hallway with duncan seemed...lovely.

Duncan smiled, walking with him up to their room. Duncan flopped onto the bed, happy to rest.

|
Axel just flopped onto the bed next to him with a soft groan, closing his eyes and just relaxing now that it was quiet. He did make sure to curl up with Duncan though.
