Josef didn't hear her come inside, already lost in thought as he gazed out the window, accepting that he'd most likely die on this island. Until the loudest squeak of a chair against floor scared the life out of him. "Jesus--" He muttered, flinching as he glanced back at her, leaning against the counter top now facing her. "Look, I know we're stuck on some island with no way out, we don't know eachother whatsoever but, if we want to make it out alive we need to work together instead of staying silent and staring." He explained. |

Sadie jumped a little herself when he exclaimed at seeing her. She looked at him, scrutinizing. "Why would we need to work together? Pretty sure we can both fend for ourselves. I can, at least. Not sure about you." That last part came out harder than she meant, but it was too late to take it back. Besides, he needed to know that she was fine without him. |

Josef chuckled, shaking his head lightly as he looked over at her. "What? You saying I can't survive?" He asked, a small grin on his face. |

Sadie raised an eyebrow and asked with a tiny hint of a smirk, "Why don't you tell me? Think you can live for months out here alone?" She didn't say what else she was thinking, that she didn't think she had it in her to survive either. But she had slept in a tree, and he hadn't. |

"It's not going to take months to get out of here, maybe a month. And i'm gonna be humble and say no, I don't think I could. Doubt you could either, unless you're some survival expert who knows how to live off nothing because if you are," He paused, expression changing. "A few tips would be really appreciated." |

"I'm not saying it will take months, but that is the worst-case scenario, isn't it?" Sadie's voice was rising in frustration at his comments. Why did he talk like he knew everything and was better than she was? "And there's not 'nothing' on this island! In fact, I'm pretty sure there are enough materials out here to live for years if we have to!" Sadie took a calming breath and put her palms on the stable, standing up abruptly. "Now, if you don't mind, I'm going to get some fresh air," she said bitterly, stalking outside. |

"Be my guest," He muttered under his breath, watching as she went with a grin, shutting the door behind him before finishing off the glass of water, putting it away. Josef then returned back to the couch, drifting off once more. |

Once outside, Sadie took long, quick strides until she was into the forest. Then she lowered herself to the ground and tried to calm herself down. 'UGH, this would all be so much easier if he wasn't here! I'd have more food, more room, and best of all I wouldn't have to deal with his aggravating self! Maybe I should just let him have the house. I can manage in that tree from last night and he'll have it to himself, just like he wanted in the first place.' Sadie thought back to what had just happened. It actually wasn't really his fault. I mean, sure, he'd been annoying and contradicting everything she said, but she could have handled it better. Her temper was just too hard to stamp out. Something to work on, at least. She knew it wouldn't get any better if she spent more time around him. That would just make it worse. She needed solitude. Sadie sighed. The tree tonight, then. |

Josef continued sleeping, tossing and turning a few times, getting lost in a dream of being saved, only for them to throw him off the ship at some random port. |

Sadie walked back to the house, planning on going inside, grabbing her backpack, and leaving without saying a word. She would only talk if he said something first. She opened the front door and shut it behind her, going to the kitchen table, which was where she'd left her backpack. She saw him asleep again and paused, watching him once again. After a few seconds she turned and grabbed her backpack. |
