Selma Roselyn Tracey | 24 | F | Frankie & Romeo | Location: Clinic Romeo would splash in the slush that had gathered along the roadside, an amalgamation of mud and melted snow. Selma thought it was funny at first, but when he literally stopped to paw at the liquid mush, she set him straight with a pull on the reins. Selma didn't have a rough hand, but was firm. Either way, she made sure never to apply enough force that would hurt him. That's also why she rode bitless. Romeo let out a petulant snort and trotted back onto the right path. Eventually, Woodward's Clinic came into view. The second o on the sign above the front entrance displaying the clinic's name had been blown off during a rough storm, so now it read Wo dward's Clinic. There hadn't been any time to fix it. The property, which included the barn, was flocked by trees and dense brush. There was enough open space for about three pastures, with the first two separated by gender (Romeo was kept with the mares). The third was farther from the others, used as a quarantine pen for new arrivals. Selma steered Romeo over to the large barn doors and dismounted, leading him inside to remove his tack, brush him, pick his hooves. She then put on his halter, clipped a lead rope, then threw a blanket over him (it was olive green, to match his saddle pad). She'd taken the bag of cat feed and placed it outside, in case there were any mice in the stables, and added a barn cat to the list of things that were needed around the place. She brought Romeo outside, to his designated pasture, turned him out and took off his halter. She watched for a bit as the mares greeted him with jovial nickers. Selma chuckled as they all pranced and played in the snow, then she took the bag of cat food and brought it indoors. "I come bearing gifts!" she announced to the empty lobby, though the chime on the door had already made her presence known. Dr. Margolis popped in through a door that led to the back area, took the offering from Selma's arms, and thanked her assistant. "Were there any patients while I was gone?" Dr. Margolis shook her head. "Not yet, but the day's far from over." "Do you need me to do anything else?" "Not at the moment... but I'm going to feed the animals now, but some of the cages are going to need cleaning later." "Got it!" she stuck out her pinky finger in a thumbs up. "I'm gonna let Frankie out of her cage for a while." Then they both went their separate ways. Selma went into another room, where Frankie was kept. It was actually an examination room that had been put out of use. It had been that way since Selma started working here, and Dr. Margolis avoided the room like the plague despite it being perfectly safe. Selma didn't know why, but she did know to keep away from the subject. She entered, and walked to the birdcage along the back wall. Frankie was sitting on her perch, preening at her feathers, which were a gradient from dark to light grey, patterned with white splotches. "Hey, pretty girl," Selma murmured, opening the cage and holding out her hand. Frankie waddled onto her palm and Selma pulled her out. She stroked the pigeon's head, at peace.

Beau Lancaster || M || 25 || Annie & Laredo || Mentions: Annie, Laredo Riata, Wren. . Beau had just closed to the door of the house, about to go back outside to work on some machines to geet his focus back, when he heard Lou barking. He paused for a minute to listen to it before he heard some yelling too. He sighed and called for Laredo. "Lar, go find Lou." He knew that the dog would because her and the Pyrenees were basically joined at the hip half of the time. The pointer trotted out of the house, and loped to the edge of the property before slipping throught the fence and running off. . After he watched the dog run away, he walked quickly down to the barn to catch Annie and tack her up to see whats going on with his cousin and possibly other people. The mare trotted over to him, and he quickly haltered her, brushed her off quickly, threw the saddle pad and blanket on her, then his saddle. He let down the cinches again and the latigo, and tightened both before reaching around her for the breastcollar. He clipped it to the cinch before attaching it to the other side of his saddle. He then slipped off the halter and slid the bosal onto her head, putting the reins over her head and the git down in his hand till he got out of the gate and mounted, and tucked it in his belt. . He shifted his weight forward and the mare picked up a brisk trot towards where Lou had now stopped barking. Laredo was probably there now. Good. When his cousin came into sight, he called, "Wren! What in the world is going on? I heard Lou barking and yelling. Go back to the ranch." He didn't wait for her to respond before he continued down the road to where the yelling had come from. He could hear Riata's hooves going the opposite direction, along with both dogs paws.

I am SO sorry guys I thought I had posted but I think I timed out a while ago! Emily Woodstock | 30F | Yarra & Destiny | Mentions: Darren and Lupin | Destiny continued to acted spooked but soonly settled down listening to Emily's voice, taking a big breath in before letting out a loud snort, flicking her tail harshly. Definitely showing signs she wasn't calm yet but was willing to listen. Emily was so concerned about the mare she was completley unaware of her surroundings until she heard the man's voice. Emily blushed in embarrassment as she looked down at the ground for a second before turning to face Darren. With a smile to hide the embarrassment "Oh... Hi... Yes! We are okay.... Sorry someone's acting fresh today" she chuckled softly "sorry to disturb you guys!". Emily turned Destiny in the direction of the pastures again "it sounded like a whip whatever it was" she spoke with a little concern in her voice Yarra wags his tail as he looks at the stallion before looking back over to Emily and Destiny before trotted out of the barn. Emily sighed softly "well I should let this one run her energy out, Thanks for checking up on us" she waved softly to Darren before clicking Destiny to a walk towards the pastures.

Darren Lee Greyson | 46 | M | Penny & Lupin | Location: Barn Cross Ties | M: Emily, Lupin, Penny, Destiny . Darren smiled at Emily "That's alright we all have days like that". Happy with Lupin's tack he stepped away to fetch Penny's halter from her door before leading the mare from her stall, "One last thing then you can retire for the night" he smoke softly to the mare. Undoing Lupin from the cross-ties the trio began heading out with Lupins reins and Pennys lead in Darren's hands. Lupin tried giving Penny some sweet talk but quickly noticed she wasnt interested and paid him no mind. Darren smiled and nodded to Emily on the way out of the barn as he led the two draft horses on their way. . Lupin briefly looked at Destiny but he knew it was time for his work mindset so he paid attention to Darren once more. Once outside Darren put his foot into Lupin's stirrup and mounted up, adjusting his seat and collecting the reins while giving pennys lead enough slack to keep her comfortable beside Lupin. Darren stroked Lupin's neck a praise for standing still before clucking him on to walk. Penny had been ponied and ponied other horses before so she knew what to do, plodding alongside Lupin and Darren. Starting their journey to the veterinary clinic, Darren chose the easier route for the group knowing he still had to refresh Lupins snow shoes and he didn't want to have any slip ups. . It was a relitively relaxed ride to the clinic apart from the cold wind and the occasional unsteady terrain but they made it there, dismounting Lupin Darren made his way into the clinic with the two drafts in tow.

Selma Roselyn Tracey | 24 | F | Frankie & Romeo | Location: Clinic No time for rest. That's how it usually was around the clinic. Selma perked up as Dr. Margolis' voice split through the closed door. "Selma, we have a patient!" "Coming!" Selma was gentle but moved quickly as she set Frankie onto the perch within her cage, shutting the door. She then sped out of the room, catching up to the veterinarian, who was already heading out of the door, in the process of pulling on her coat and a pair of gloves. Selma wasn't sure what kind of patient they'd be dealing with until they stepped outside, and her focus centered on two beautiful draft horses, who were being led up to the clinic by a grizzled, older man. Dr. Margolis crossed the haphazardly-shoveled path to meet him. "Mr. Greyson," she greeted, voice cool as the frost drifting from her breath. "What can we do for you?" Mr. Greyson... Selma hadn't recognized him, but it wasn't surprising that Dr. Margolis did — she'd gotten to know a good chunk of the town when their animals, usually horses, needed veterinary attention. Selma then shifted her gaze to the pair of drafts, curious as to why they were brought here. She'd just have to wait and see.

Darren Lee Greyson | 46 | M | Penny & Lupin | Location: Vet Clinic | M: Dr. Margolis, Selma, Lupin, Penny . Darren looked up to be greeted by the Veterinarian who he knew from the countless times he'd taken his horses in for various reasons. "Dr Margolis it's been a good minute since i've seen you" He smiled before giving a greeting nod to Selma and gesturing towards Penny and Lupin. "These guys are due for some vaccinations and i believe deworming" He spoke, "But this lady right here" he smiled as he shifted towards the bay roan mare and gave her a pat on the neck "I was looking to get her ultrasounded and see if she's in foal". . Lupin looked over the people watching as one of the women was looking over him and Penny, his grey tail gently swishing as he watched Darren speak to them. His ears forward the grey stallion could smell there had been horses here before, adjusting his stance he nickered out for any responses to see who was in the building. . Penny kept a calm stature, gently swishing her tail as her ears moved around keeping up with everyones conversation and any other noises. If either of the horses knew the building better it was her, being quite a few years older than Lupin and having been with Darren the longest she'd been vaccinated and all sorts here. Penny even had her first foal here when she was younger around the age of 7, he was sold when Darren had him trained a few years after but she is 16 now so it had been a while since she last had a foal. Selma Roselyn Tracey | 24 | F | Frankie & Romeo | Location: Clinic Selma listened with strained ears as one of the horses, the grey, sensed the presence of others and called out. Nickers flowed from the mare pasture in response. A few trotted up to the fenceline, greeting the unfamiliar horses with curious glances. Others tucked themselves into corners warily, or hid behind their friends. Selma grinned, then swung her gaze over to Dr. Margolis, who started up again. "We'll take them to the examination room, get their shots and deworming over with, then Penny'll get her ultrasound. Selma," "Yes ma'am?" "Can you bring Penny to the exam room? It'll be better to do her first because she knows this place, which will make the whole prodecure for him-" she nodded her head in the direction of the grey stallion, "-not as stressful, when it comes to be his turn." Selma chirped out an affirming reply before approaching Mr. Greyson, holding her hand out to accept Penny's lead, looking up and admiring the roan mare. "She's beautiful," she commented politely. Small-talk — that was her specialty.

Darren Lee Greyson | 46 | M | Penny & Lupin | Location: Vet Clinic | M: Dr. Margolis, Selma, Lupin, Penny . Darren watched Lupin communicate with the mares in the pasture, Lupin's ears pricked listening to a few of them calling back but he stood still knowing his ground manners not to drag Darren off to go meet them. Darren listened to what procedure was going to be made and promptly undid all of Lupin's tack except his bridle to set them aside and keep them out of the way. Running a hand down the grey stallions back where the saddle and saddle pad had once sat. . Watching Selma approach Darren handed over Penny's lead to her, "She wouldn't hurt a fly" He smiled appreciating the compliment towards the mare. Letting her know Penny had a very laidback temperament, that was years of training and work paid off that Darren could let someone else handle the mare without worrying about anyone elses safety. "I'll lead Lupin up, he's still young so i wouldn't trust him as much" He spoke, looking over at the grey stallion who looked back over to the group from gazing out at the pasture with a soft snort and flicking his forelock. . Lupin followed Darren as they made their way to the exam room discussed in their procedural plans, his ears flicking around listening to their surroundings and watching everyone closely. The stallion looking back to see if Penny was following with a soft nicker to her.

Emily Woodstock| 30F | Yarra and Destiny Emily tipped her hat down a little as she took a deep breath as she walked out of the barn with Destiny and Yarra. She hated being embarrassed in front of people, usually was enough to shut down but she pushed through. Destiny flung her head up as she paced beside Emily as they approached the pasture gates. Destiny was unusually high energy for some reason but Emily couldn't pin it. As the paid approached the gate, Destiny made her presence known as she whinnied loudly as she pawed impatiently, making deep marks in the muddy ground. Emily softly tugged the lead "excuse me missy!" She muttered as she unclipped the gate and opened it, leading the mare into the paddock. She waited until Destiny calmed down before she unbuckled the halter and set the mare free. Destiny jumped to the side away from Emily before basically bolting all the way to the bottom of the paddock, like if she was a racehorse running her race. Coming to a sliding halt at the bottom of the fence Line, she flicks her tail as she watched the town from afar. Emily sighed as Yarra trotted passed "you two are really trouble makers at the moment" watching the canine make his way to a old wooden dog house that sat under a tree in the pasture. A hideout where Yarra claimed to be his. Emily smiled as she watch her favourite four legged friends enjoy some free time "well I guess I'll see you guys later..." Turning around and closing the gate as she left the pasture and back towards the barn "I gotta get my supplies then return home and make these remedies... This winter is going to be tough as I said..." Reminding herself that she needs to get back into schedule, walking in the barn and towards Destiny stall.

Im alive peeps! Opal-mae Lilland Duffel "Opal" | F | 23 | bambi & quin| mentions: bingo bambi quin dusty. . As bingo luched forward from the leather colliding with his haunches quin stepped sideways to get out of the ponys way. "Why are you on this side of town?" She asked Dustin as she turned quin around to face him better. He responded with a uninterested shrug and a "I was buying new leadrope snaps when I heard the scuffle" opal decided to just let it go and not interrogate him. That was his father's job not hers. She tapped quins sides with her heels to get her moving forward "alright then. Im going to get these two put away and then I'm going to get the yellow filly out to start round penning her" she told her little brother her plan as he rode next to her looking slightly challenged. "What?" She asked him after watching him knaw on his lip for a few minutes, he laughed nervously and she sighed "what did you do?". + Dustin James Duffel "Dusty" | M | 13 | Bullseye & Bingo| Mentions: rosko, bingo, bambi, quin, opal . Dustin watched his sisters dog bouncy through the snowy bushes like a rabbit on steroids, although steroids weren't very commonly used anymore as body builders didn't body build anymore, or atleast that's what he had been told by his dad. "Well I sorta told selma that we could go to the clinic to pick up a few rescues because they're overflowing with animals that aren't even sick" he watches opal pause before groaning and mumbling "of course you did dusty" she sighed again before nudging opal into a trot "I'll get the empty barn ready for them" she said with a wave of her hand to signal for him to follow her back to the barn.
