The only two bad rated horses I have are a chimera and brindle. Once I breed their pattern onto something higher I’ll release them

you can use combo ratings to your advantage, especially with gelds. For example, if you have an EWE geld, you could train in the discipline that the horse is W in, as this is a better rating and will usually benefit training

i might keep and use him for jumping then cause i caught a few to geld for comps
Alpine Acres

Checkers
I agree :)
Checkers Catch
03:15:25
Anything less then EEE or PPP is usually better released
Alpine Acres
03:15:23 Lily
SPE isn't too bad as you can use the E rating to your advantage and training in jumping (which is the discipline that the horse is E in). Still not the best rating though
Sagewood Stables
03:15:23
aah okay i only have limited money and im sure there abit exy to buy
WRS Sweet Hollow

SSS is decent I thought. Of course I've been gone awhile so yeah
Checkers Catch
03:14:54
Yeah Lilys right
Alpine Acres
03:14:37 Lily
The better the rating, the better the horse should do in that discipline (in most cases). That's why EEE+ gelds can make some good showing money if trained right :)
Sagewood Stables
03:14:18
what about SPE XD
Checkers Catch
03:14:07
Yeah anything less then a PPP rating tends to just be better released
Sagewood Stables
03:14:05
aah okay ill try to only keep PPP then for comps :) thank you
Alpine Acres
03:13:30 Lily
yeah, SSS is generally considered a 'bad' rating. For gelds, you want them to be PPP+ ideally with some E ratings
Checkers Catch
03:13:14

The way I highlight is you open a new layer, name it highlights, duh lol. Then take your paintbrush with a really light off white that's almost white. Size 1, 100% opacity. Go over the horse and paint over areas that would typically be highlighted such as cheekbones, hips, chest, etc. Don't fully paint them in, just concentrated zig-zags. Then take your smudge tool, around size 12, 75% opacity, and go over and smudge the highlights. This way you don't excessively smudge the horse since you're on a new layer :)

Is exactly what I do. I create a highlights, lowlights, hair and other details I draw on, on a new layer. :)
