If anyone knows anything about me, it's that I love books. I'm always reading something, and my TBR list is probably at least 10 miles high. When I need to be somewhere else for a bit, if I'm frustrated, or just simply bored, books have always had my back and been one of the few constants in this ever changing world. Especially during times like this, when the majority of the world is still under quarantine and many are unable to leave their homes or see their loved ones in person, books can be not only a form of positive escapism, but also a way to keep us company during such uncertain times. I also know that I am not alone in this feeling! This is a thread for all book lovers! Post about your favorite books, recommend books to others, discuss scenes, rant about how movies are nothing like the books, ask for recommendations, etc... , but please, no spoilers! (Or at least clearly mark in bold/bright colors/large font that your post contains spoilers for specific books) All genres are welcome, as well as all reading levels! I just ask that you all follow a few simple rules, to ensure that this thread stays as friendly as possible; 1) Follow all HEE Chat Rules. 2) If you are going to include spoilers, please at the top of your post include something along the lines of "This post contains SPOILERS for (insert book name) ". Even if it is a series as well known as Harry Potter, please include this. Not everyone has read the book you are talking about, and being spoiled is the absolute worst! 3) Remember; Your opinions are just Opinions. They are not your passions. It is ok to be passionate about your beliefs, but if you disagree with someone's opinion, please don't get into an argument trying to prove to them that their opinion is wrong. We book lovers tend to have strong opinions, but that doesn't mean that your opinion is the only opinion someone can have. You may respectfully disagree, but don't take someone's disagreement as a personal offence. 4) As much as we all love fanfics, this is not a forum to advertise for your fanfics or wattpad stories, etc... . This is to discuss PUBLISHED WORKS. 5) Please, stay on the topic of books. This is not a place to RP or anything else. Edited at June 22, 2020 11:28 PM by ~Skye Acres~

Finally! Thank you Skye, I was actually thinking about this yesterday myself :) This Post Includes SPOILERS about Lord Of The Rings (The Return Of The King) I'm currently reading Lord Of The Rings, and I just *love* it. The language, the cultures, the beautiful description, the way Tolkien writes emotions, literally everything! Fantasy is by far my favourite genre, so this is a scoop of heaven for me. (I'm currenty at page 850 or so, so please don't spoil anything for me :D) When Theoden died...Dx. I don't know, I just loved Merry and his relationship so much. I had to sit in silence, in the dark for a while just to grieve him. Uggh. And then how they were going to go back and Merry would tell him about herblore and hobbit ancestry and just D:. Beautifully written death scene, though.

^ I haven't read Mistborn, but I love a lot of Sanderson's other works. The Reckoners series is a super fun superhero story, and they're still coming out but his new Skyward series is one of my favorite sci-fis. He handles plot and humor so so wel .

If I'm not mistaken, is that not the new Hunger Games spinoff book? Diagon Alley Elites said: I'm currently reading The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. I haven't gotten that far into it, but I like it so far.
