I thought that I would start off by showing you my piggies!! 💖

The White/Black One is my Sweet Rugar! He is an American Piggie Boar. I got him last year from my Hubby as a Christmas gift (after reasearching and asking to get have one for over a year). I got him at 6wks old and I do believe he is over a year old now and this Christmas (2021) would have been 1 year I have had him!

The Chestnut/White Floofy one is our adventerous one, named Remington aka: Remi (tho. he is more my husband's piggie). He is a sheltie, we got him at 3wks old about 3ish months ago. Not sure how old that would make him now? But, he is still a young boar!

Omg I love guinea pigs so much. So much love for this thread. Yours are super cute! <3 Shelties are so pretty and I love Rugar's markings.

I currently have 2 piggies, had 3 until last year.
Sadly I had to put Peppa Pig to sleep last year as she had lymphoma. Really sad as she was only 3 :(
I also had to remove a massive bladder stone from Penelope last year but she has recovered really well although avoiding high-calcium veggies now. (I'm a vet btw)
Not had a lot of luck with them medically but at the moment they seem to be doing OK.

From left to right: Peppa Pig, Percy and Penelope. Percy is 5, Penelope is 4. o
Relaxing in bed!

Aww Thank You so much!! Mine are sooo spoiled haha!

Oh My goodness!!!!!! Yours are just so adorable!!! ❤️ I am so sorry to hear about Peppa Pig 😞 *hugs* what an adorable name tho! It's also so good to hear that Penelope is doing better! I love Percy's colors! 😍

Is Penelope a sheltie or an abyssinian or Peruvian??

Aw thanks!
They are rescues so not 100% sure but I think she is a Peruvian. She is super sassy though, I can't walk past without her screaming at me for food and she bosses Percy around. Percy is super chill and friendly.
What are your piggies' personalities like?

Aw! haha, poor Percy, but hey us ladies have to show the men whos boss sometimes lol

Rugar, my older boar, is super sweet! He loves all veggies: lettuce, carrots, cucumbers, oranges, pumpkin skin, apples, but his altumite favorite is green bell peppers! He mostly quiet in his cage except when him and Remi are playing around. Rugar gets the most loud and talkative if he hears anything crickle sounding from in the kitchen, he thinks he is getting treats, haha and somehow he can always tell when i'm cutting him veggies! He gets so happy, that and when I open a frash bag of hay, he goes nuts! He is super cuddly, he comes to me when I kiss to him, if he is in my lap, he will run up my chest to boop his nose to my lips and I'll kiss him, he loves to stand/lay on my shoulders and nibble my ear lobes and for some reason likes to try and eat my hair 🙄🤦‍♀️... he loves to be tickled on his belly and his sides, make him popcorn like crazy!!!... but.... I do have to admit, he hasn't really been himself since we brought Remi home. (they get along amazingly....but for some reason... I don't think me and Rugar are as bonded anymore and I'm not sure why 😔)

Remi, the young baby boar, he is pretty quiet inside the cage, he like to hide alot, but has his moments he will run around the cage like he is a race car haha 😂, kicking up sawdust everywhere, it's too funny and poor Rugar can't keep up with him! He is a very care free piggie, he could care less what you do to him, how you pet him, as long as you are touching him in some way, he is happy and super loud! He will not stop squeaking as long as you are petting him or playing with his hair and he does a lot of nose bumps if you rub down his nose bridge.... though, he is not as calm or still as Rugar... Remi is always on the move, can't sit still unless he is sleeping in your lap or eating carrots/lettuce. He is always trying to get away, he is very adventerous for sure!

I have been searching for a forum like this! I had two guinea pigs growing up, I had a creme and white abyssinian boar named William and a black and white american boar named Oreo. William had a lot of energy and loved to run through my house lol he had a lot of personality XD If he didn't want to be picked up(usually when he was eating)he would kick with one of his back feet! Oreo was super calm and loved to just sit and watch tv XD he definetely didn't have as much energy as William lol They both had different health issues and did not live as long as I wanted, even though we worked with vets to keep them as healthy as we could. Oreo passed away when he was 5(about 3 years ago), he had heart issues all of his life and I think it finally gave out. William battled kidney stones but they were always treatable(he required a special diet) he passed away when he was just about 7(just about 2 years ago). I will see if I can find some pictures.

Lately I have been considering getting two female guinea pigs. I really miss having them but I am afraid I am too busy right now to have more. I have been looking around at different pet stores and rescues looking to see if I find two that I just can't resist XD

I have 9 piggies. I had 10 but 3 passed away recently. My 4 sows (females) are all related mother and daughter, and sisters to the mother. They are Cookie a chocolate and white American, Snow White a PEW (pink eyed white) American, S'Mores a tri-colored (She is Chocolate, Tan, and White) American, and Mimic a black and white American. The 5th female I had was a Chocolate and white Abysinnian but she passed away about a week after I moved from Missiouri to Wyoming at the age of 7. The boars (boys) I have are all brothers or nephews to each other, and to the females I have. Wick is a tri color, he's agotti, white, and tan American. Domino is a black and white American, and Mimic's twin brother. Only difference between them are how their patches are on them. Then there's Hersey, he's a dark chocolate with no white American. The two males that passed away were Sundae a chocolate and white American who was the father or grandfather of most of my piggies. He passed away young due to stress of moving and my best friend's dog freaking him out. The other one who passed was Heartbreaker who was a chocolate American with a broken heart mark in white on his back. He suffered from seizures all of his life, and the finally one took him at the age of 7 months. All of them have their own personalities and all are fun to have around. They are scared of the dogs, but love to tease the cats.

Aw! Your piggies sounded wonderful! I am so sorry for your loss 😞 but, I would love to see pictures! <3 Also......Do guinea pigs normally have short lives?

@Hawkeye-

WOW! You have alot of babies! I am so sorry for your losses, that's awful about the seizures. However, so neat that they are all related! I only have 2 at the moment and I really want more! I really love skinny pigs and would die if I can ever get my hands on one! Do you have pictures of all your babies!? 😍
