I'll be honest none of my world class horses has spooked so far.

As a long term bravery breeder I second this. Bravery has become a side project for me simply because of how long it takes before any of that years foals can be tested. There is also a lack of

But if you specifically breed for bravery? Not only do you have to hold the foals for a whole month since they can't be ridden (extra space taken up), but then actually rating them takes soooo much time. I really don't want to talk about the sheer number of times I've tried bravery breeding and then lost motivation when it came to rating the foals.
This!! I have a pasture specifically for bravery and my foals take up a bit of room and I can't rate them or even get a head start on training in the round pen. I wish there was a way to test it before they were 2, kind of how we can train yearlings before they're able to show. Then I could make space in the pasture instead of half of it being yearlings.

I feel like my good horses are spooking more than they did previously, but all three horses I tested spooked when I explored with them.

Omg... I never understood why there were wormy apples... lolz

I don't feel like changes are needed. Yes, sometimes horses take a long time to spook but that's what wormy apples are for, and those stock regularly in the shop

Yep, I agree with all of this. I've been dabbling in breeding, but it's so long term and frustrating I don't focus on it too much. I do explore though, for the bonus items.

I really like the change as my 100% trained WC mare very rarely spooks now and I feel that's much more realistic/worth the investment of time and ebs. I didn't have any issue rating a round of wilds this week, I had a WC and a couple Elites and the time for them to spook was reasonable. But I rate like 10-15 over a couple days, so I don't deal with mass numbers.

For bred foals, I think maybe just separate it from Explore entirely? Maybe something with the round pen, you can pay a trainer or something to take the horse out on a ride and rate its bravery? You'd pay them a fee like the Breed Approvals. Then Explore is its own thing and the mechanics don't have to try to cater to both people who need to rate horses and those just out for a ride/rewards.

Since the update it definitely takes a lot more moves to get a horse to spook for the first time.
Shouldn't an untrained sub-par horse spook at the very first obstacle it encounters?

I breed between 120 & 150 bravery foals per RO, and I rate all of them. It takes time, but it's worth it to me since I don't really breed for rating, just my colorful horses.
I've noticed it takes longer for my horses to rate, but I'm glad that I was already almost done with my crop. I would love for it to be easier, but it's fine as it is.

I would really like to see us be able to test our horse's bravery inside our round pens. It would make a lot of sense. I also wish it didn't cost money to train our own horses in our round pens. To get a horse to 100% training costs far more than you'll ever be able to sell them for, even if they have an E or W bravery rating.
I do a lot of exploring. I like the changes. It's definitely easier. But I think it should be when you are running W and E rates horses through.

As a bravery breeder, the updates haven't bothered me really when it comes to testing. I haven't noticed a difference. Occasionally I've had some Ps or Ss go like 40 moves but thats to be expected I feel
