Caelan's voice was now raised but he didn't yell. Though he was close to it, he tried his very best not to. "So, what, I just kill my mother? Banish her? I finally made a truce between our kingdoms and knowing her, she'll try to ruin it!"

Adele sat up. She was also nearly yelling. "I don't know what you're supposed to do!" She forced herself to lower her voice. "I wish I did, but I don't. I feel like the best way to get her to stop tormenting you is to banish her, but then she'll likely continue plotting against you in secret. Nothing I can think of will fix the problem. Unless, somehow, we can make her come to her senses. But we already tried that, and it made her even more angry." Adele's voice shrank to a whisper and she hid her face in her hands. "I don't know what to do..."

"I'll be right back" He muttered, getting up. He walked to the head guard sternly. "My mother is to be locked up immedietly with at least three guards posted beside her at all times. Anyone who conspires with her or breaks those rules is to be locked up and guarded as well until I choose further action. Do you understand me?" Caelan said, slightly snapping. The guard nodded and left

Adele let him go, knowing she'd upset him. 'Arggg, Adele, why do you always have to speak your mind!? One of these days you're going to say something bad and then he's going to get very angry...' she chastised herself, running a hand through her hair forcefully. She slid off the bed and went over to where her things from Calvin were set on Caelan's desk. She rummaged through her clothes, hoping to see something that she wanted to wear. Adele was really just trying to distract herself from the fact that what she really wanted to do was go back home and get some rest. Rest from thinking, from being with Caelan, and from all her worries. But she had promised to stay the night, so she would. Adele sighed, and sat back down on the bed, waiting for Caelan to come back.

Caelan walked back into the room a bit later. "Everything alright?" He asked, seeing Adele's expression. "She's locked up." He informed her softly. "Do you wanna go back home?" He asked softly

Adele looked up at him as he came in, an unreadable expression on her face. "I'm okay." Then, hearing what he had done to his mother, said, "Oh Caelan, please don't tell me you did that just because of me!" She didn't answer him about going home, as she didn't really know herself. She thought she did, but staying might be nice too.

"You brought me to my senses about her" He said simply

Adele bit her lip, unsure whether he was telling the truth or trying to get away with doing what she wanted even though she said not to. "Are you sure? I don't want to influence your decisions. They're yours to make. I shouldn't be helping you rule your kingdom. I'm sorry that I got worked up, it's just so hard for me to see you conflicted and in pain by her." She stood, paused, then kissed his forehead before excusing herself to change into her night clothes.

"It's alright" He said, smiling softly at her. He nodded when she excused herself and changed into a sort of sweatpants and no shirt, his scars on full display. He sighed as he passed a mirror, the little demon in his mind telling him how horrid and ugly he looked with his scars

Adele felt better after changing and brushing her hair out. She came back into Caelan's room, and seeing his bare chest marred with scars, her heart twanged. She knew he probably needed comfort. He'd just sent his mother to prison, after all. Adele cuddled up close to him, tracing the lines of the scars on his chest. She tilted her head up to his, looking into his deep eyes. After a moment, she rubbed her thumb along his cheek softly and kissed his lips, emotion flowing through her. "I love you," she murmured, warm in his embrace.
