Adele nodded, biting her lip. "Right. Okay. I guess I'll talk to my parents' advisors about what's gonna happen next..." Her hoarse voice trailed off, and she pulled away from Caelan, picking up her hairbrush. But her hands were shaking so badly that she couldn't finish the braid. Trembling, she set the brush back on the table and hid her face in her shaking hands, trying to pull herself together. 'Be strong. You have to be strong. For Caelan. For Alban. For the whole kingdom.'

Caelan sighed sympathetically, pulling her hair back gently anf finishing brushing it. He braided it down her back silently before banding the end and pressing his lips to her neck gently. "Let's go see your brother, darling." He said softly, taking her hand

Adele nodded again, and followed Caelan out the door and down the hall to Alban's room. . (writer's block >-<)

Alban was sleeping when there came a light knock on the door. He woke and dragged himself over to open it. When he saw his sister and the man, Caelan, who had taken him home last night, he immediately ran and hugged Adele tightly. . Adele was caught off guard at his sudden movement, but she hugged Alban back. After a few moments, she guided him to sit on his bed so they could talk. "How are you doing?" She asked softly, brushing a lock of hair from his face. Alban swung his legs and looked down at his hands. "Not good." He said simply. Adele moved to sit next to him on the bed. Alban began to cry quietly, remembering the events of the night before. The image of his parents lying dead on the ground still haunted him, and yet he couldn't believe they were gone. Adele pulled him into her lap and wrapped her arms around him, murmuring comforting words. "Shh, Alban. It's gonna be okay. I'm here. We're okay. Shhh..." His crying slowed, and he fell asleep in her arms.

Caelan watched, pity written all over his face. "I'm so sorry" he said, placing a hand on Adele's back

Adele felt tears in her eyes as she watched Alban sleeping. He was so young. Too young to lose his parents. Too young to have these feelings. Adele nodded a little at Caelan's words, but kept her eyes on her brother. After a moment, she stood, turned, and laid him back on his bed. She pulled the blanket over him and tucked one of his favorite toys, a wooden horse, into bed with him. Her hand lingered on his shoulder, before she forced herself to turn and leave the room.

"Adele, hold up a moment. Please, darling. Let out your emotions. I love you, you trust me, right? C'mere." Caelan said softly, gently grabbing her and pulling her against his chest. "It's a lot to go through. You'll be alright." He said, pressing a kiss to her forehead and rubbing her back in slow circles

Adele gave in and let Caelan hold her, tears trickling down her face. "He's so young..." She said, voice full of sorrow and regret. How easy life had seemed only days ago, when her parents had agreed that Caelan was a good man, and his mother was at her castle minding her own business. But now... Well, everything was different now. Everything had changed. 'Well,' she thought with a small smile, 'Almost everything. Caelan still loves me and I still love him, so that's something.'
