The transformation felt...odd, but not unpleasant. He watched wide eyed as it happened, a sort of shocked laugh rising from his throat. "That's....really cool," he noted after a moment, grinning over at Remy happily as he sort of swished the tail around slightly, trying to get used to the new muscles and....well, new limb. It was different than the prosthetic though. He was still him. That did cause a thought and he wrinkled his nose, showing it to Rosaline. "Is....there someway to make this able to work in the ocean," he asked heasitantly.

Remy grinned, but it faded once he mentioned the prosthetic. Rosalie shook her head. "No, little one. The materials will break down underwater no matter if you found a water proof one,"

Sage grimaced when she mentioned the arm wouldn't be able to be used underwater. Well....he should have seen that coming. But the thought still terrified him. "Right," he sort of breathed, tightening his grip on remys hand. "Are there materials we could make a different one from while I'm down there?" He really was trying to figure it out but ....if he had to leave the arm behind to be with Remy, he supposed he'd just have to get used to it.

Rosalie shook her head. Remy squeezed Sages hand. "It'll be okay, baby,"

Sage could feel the panic building up on his chest but he glanced over at Remy and nodded, taking a deep breath. "Yeah," he noted. "I'll figure it out," he added, moving to let go of remys hand and unclasp the prosthetic so he could toss it into the beach where it would stay dry. He was nervous, but he also trusted Remy. He was suddenly glad they'd been working at leaving it off at night and such.

"Don't worry about it too much," Rosalie said softly. "Many merpeople have lost limbs in boating and fishing accidents, so its relatively normal down in the sea," she explained. "Well, farewell, little ones," she sighed, diving back into the water, leaving Sage and Remy alone. Remy smiled softly. "It'll be okay," he reassured him.

Sage just nodded when Rosalie mentioned it being normal. At least the merpeople wouldn't be weirded out by him. Or maybe they would, since they were gay. Whatever. He looked over at Remy with a nod once she'd left, and offered him a smile. "I'll get used to it," he noted, looking back down at his tail with a curious gaze. "Can...can we figure out all...this," he added, gesturing to the tail and gills and everything. They'd have to go into deeper water for that, but he still wasn't sure what muscles did what. It was all so new.

Remy smiled softly and nodded. "Yeah, we can do gills right here, we're in the shallows, so its perfect," he added. "Okay, so these are your gills," he gestured, running a finger down the slits on Sages neck, which were his gills. "Can you flex them out?"

Sage nodded slowly, admittedly nervous about that. "Right," he noted, shivering slightly as remys finger moved along the fragile membranes there, reaching up to feel them gently himself. "I...can try," he noted, doing his best to flare them. It took him a couple times, but eventually he managed to flare them slightly, a delighted grin forming on his face.

Remy smiled, "Good, okay, now sink into the water so they're fully submerged, but still breathe with your lungs," once Sage had done it, he spoke again. "Okay, do they feel tingly and cold?" he asked.
