(No worries! I don't mind waiting a bit<3 Poor Kyron, probably pretty drafty😭) Luara Ingalls Laura followed Kyron away from the human settlement, practically buzzing with excitement. And to think, she'd get to spend most of her time out here instead of in a lab. She didn't quite understand his words, but from his tone got the point of 'Don't go running off and touching every little thing otherwise you WILL die.' Laura stuffed her hands in her pockets just to avoid accidentally touching something that turned out to be something not exactly touchable. Her eyes were wide with wonder at the trees towering above them, so alike yet so different from trees on Earth. She wondered if they too had evolved photosynthesis or got their energy a different way. Kyron's words sort of explained it, Laura guessed the trees were carnivorous, but it also opened the door for a TON of questions, though she kept quiet for now. She'd ask him later. Laura almost gasped a little at the sight of the lake, her mind storing away what Kyron said about it. Were a lot of lakes glowy like this, or just some? Or maybe just this one. Crouching down, she dipped one hand in the water, noting its temperature. Did water here have different mineral contents from Earth's water? More than likely, but that led to another question; would it be okay for Laura to drink, or was it likely to contain things a human body couldn't handle? She shook her head, smiling a little - too cold for a swim, and she'd rather not be all soggy when she got back. "Keep going," Laura said. |

Kyron BloomSpark | HallowSweet Tribe | 24 | Verenthian 'Ver' (It's been so fricking long T-T I may actually have to re-read it >.<) - I chuckled lightly and stood up from the water-side, my long body stretching out to full length. My tail flicked playfully behind me as I took in the smaller female humans expression. Amusing. I nodded and turned, my lumi sliding along their transparent veins under my skin as I strode away from the water. I glanced back at the small woman and flashed a toothy smile. My bare feet squelching in the mud. I wrinkled my nose and shook my head. Instead moving to walk so I was in the first few centimetres of the glowing water.
As I continued to walk, occasionally checking back on Luara, a pathway cleared among the mud and ratty GooseHair grass. I snorted and leaped from the water to the grass, making sure I didn't step in the mud again. My muscles flexing as I jumped, my tail flowing behind me.
I rolled my shoulders and looked back at the human.
"I always wondered why you use leather on your feet, is the mud why?" I asked, my tongue twisting as I attempted the human language as best I could manage. My language slipping here and there into my own speech. I grunted, rubbing the back of my head and chewing over my words, making sure most of them made sense. Enough sense for her to understand. |

Laura Ingalls (lol at least it's only a few pages xD) Laura got a bit distracted by something rustling in the low foliage, and crouched down a little to investigate, being careful not to touch anything regardless of how badly she wanted to. She spotted what looked to be a medium sized rat, except nothing like a rat at all, at least not one she'd ever seen. It was a pale blue-green, with swirls of a darker blue, and its body was almost kangarooesque. It stood on its hind legs, the front paws held in front of it like a meercat, occasionally washing its long, curved whiskers with them. It peered back at Laura curiously, and she realized the creature had four eyes, perfect 360 degree vision. Its thick, muscular tail was coiled beneath it and seemed to be used to help it balance and remain upright. It blinked, one set of eyes at a time, and then dropped to all fours, scurrying off. When she heard Kyron speak, she straightened and turned back toward him. She nodded, then wrinkled her nose and added, "And rocks. And thorns. Annd other prickly things that hurt." Yeahh, shoes were a good invention. She glanced back to where she'd seen the kanga-rat thing, then pointed to its last known location and asked, "Did you see that? What was it?" |
