Name: Sage Acker Gender: Male Age: 20 years Appearance: Long, messy black hair that falls over his eyes (he uses it to kinda hide behind), golden amber eyes, rather short (5'4''), very tan skin since he lives out on the ocean, lots of scars but the most obvious is one down his left cheek, Very slim and light (he lives on a ship so good food is hard to come by), Although he's slim he's still muscular due to running a ship & fighting other pirates (more refined than bulky), gives off an air of power and/or menace, has a low voice that is quiet and scratchy, he wears tattered and thin clothes which are similar to that of the lower class citizens, he wears pretty much the same thing all the time because he lives on a boat and only keeps a few outfits. He has quite a few tattoos and piercings. His ears end in a slightly pointed tip...courtasey of his mother, who was a sea nymph. Personality: Very mistrusting because of his backstory, would generally rather be alone than with people, he comes across as cold/rude/uncaring, he's very blunt and a bit crude, he's very stubborn and an extremely good fighter, when fighting he just jumps in without thinking, very hot-headed with a bad temper, tries not to get too attached to anyone, but once he forms a relationship he is very loyal and protective, he has no qualms about killing anyone/anything Weaknesses: Hot-headedness (he often gets hurt or in trouble because of it), he's very untrusting so he doesn't like to accept help, he gets flashbacks (mostly from his father, who he doesn't get along with) from his past which affects him greatly in a very negative way Strengths: Hunting/fishing, fighting, very skilled in sneaking around, knows the ocean and his ship very well, very quick and agile, very strong Other: He takes great pride in his ship & crew, and will stop at nothing to protect them. He may be young but he's smart, and he can think on his feet quickly. He's a bit of a daredevil, but only when he has to be, and so far it has proved to be a good thing. He's made his name known among the pirates...he's a good captain and a good sailor, better than a lot of the others. His ship's name is The Fury. He has a prosthetic arm/hand (his left), a result of an unfortunate cannon hit. It took his arm off halfway down his forearm. The prostetic was made to look real, and functions like a normal hand, so not many people notice the difference, especially when he wears long sleeves (which is most of the time, he keeps it well hidden).Likes: Art (painting/drawing), music/singing, nature, anything physical (helps get his mind off of the war and of his past), science (because of the military he never was able to go to college, but since this is a shady business and he does a lot of research they hired him) Dislikes: Loud noises (Because PTSD), crowds, people who think they're better than everyone else Relationship Status: Single Crush: None at the moment Exes: He was in a relationship with his old first mate. However, when she led a mutiny, he realized she'd only been acting the entire time and their relationship was one sided. She nearly killed him, and then stranded him on an island. He had been able to make a lucky escape and take a new ship. He is still affected by it, as his feelings for her are now incredibly complicated, but he has moved on from any romantic feelings towards her. |

Name: Harlow... Title(s): "Captain Harlow" Crew Title/Name: "The Black Grins" Age: 21 Appearance: Harlow is a somewhat tall (about 5'10-6'0"... ish) and lean man, borderline underweight due to his time on the ocean, although, depending on the time and situation, he gains quite a bit, filling out, making his figure even more ominous and eye catching. Upon a face of gold jewelry, piercings, eerily blue eyes, and a constant resting bitch face, is a cascading wall of sandy blonde hair, some areas white due to sun bleaching. His body has a faint but noticeable tan along with a few scars that he hides away from the prying eyes of others. Personality: Despite his and his crew's harsh looks and atmosphere, he's rather dainty; preferring to ease into situations or avoid them if needed , of course, that never happens with other pirates. In battle or any other event he turns into a stoic and dominating figure, willing to make the waters around him and his crew turn red with his rival's blood... but as said, he'd rather avoid all that. Voice: Harlow's voice is eerily calm and nearly emotionless, never raising it to scold nor discipline (Unless giving urgent orders). Once under the influence of going to a bar, a speakeasy, or in his own collection of booze his voice can become quite colorful and easy to predict his emotion. Personal History/Gain: He wants nothing to do with his history, the main reason why he stripped himself of his middle and last name.. He has to be one of the most merciful people out there when it comes to battles, often after taking a rival down he keeps one person from the rival crew, keeping them, most likely forever until he falls. Some of his crew even recalls him releasing some to start a new when they reach land.. Public History/Gain: He's a surprisingly well known face near the coasts and docks, often stopping places to gather some supplies that are needed.. Family: His parents means very little to him after what they've done, although, his brother (Geni) and sister (Iris) both meet him during one of his detours and visits to the mainland. Crewmate Relationships: most to all of his crew consists of rivals who had lived through his attacks, meaning that most to all of his crew has a slight distaste towards him, but overall... Everyone gets along, but that doesn't mean fights never break out. In fact, fights are somewhat common but are often followed by apologies. Dislikes: Loud areas, too many people bugging him, seeing his crew hurt, sirens, and bells. Likes: quiet places, mapping, bounty hunting in the mainland, learning and discovering mystical species (Personal favorite are Kelpies), and cats. . Just to clarify, he does have cats on his boat to predict whether! Cats begin to groom a lot frequently due to the air pressure dropping! . Relationships/Friendships: He's never truly had any feelings for anyone because he's always on the go, but he had many friends and still does. Fears: Being alone.. . I think I might add more to this, lol |

(No worries and I understand! ^^) . ☆ . Harlow sat below the deck in his usual place, the area dimly lit by a oil lantern, casting a warm and subtle orange and tangerine glow on the shelves of books, another desk, a rather small bed that layed dormant in the corner of the area. On some of the wooded walls were maps, some were older than others as the wear began to eat at the paper, allowing the fine black ink to bleed through the paper ever so slightly. Harlow let out a quiet and slow groan, his hand upon his cheek as he looked down at the map he's currently creating another map, writing down past islands and isles he and his crew found. The door leading down into his area flicked open, revealing a slim tan woman with somewhat modest features, black hair, and clothing made of fabulous fabrics with a brown leather corset and heels. Her facial features were delicate and framed with the dim and gloomy light from outside. "Hello sir." She spoke softly, voice of velvet and kindness, "Good evening, Alice. What brings you down?" He asked slowly, eyes scanning past her, seeing a few figures moving quickly. Something's up, causing a commotion to stir. "A possible enemy ship has been spotted the the South of us.." She answered smoothly, although there was a slight panic twisted deep inside her words and tone. The man rose and nodded to her before he began to emerge from the belly of the space and ship, walking up the stairs, earning a creak and groan from each step. Alice moved out of his way as he moved out into the open l, eyes scanning the seas before he finally saw what he was looking for. Indeed it was another ship, although it was rather far away, the horizon nearly swallowing the other. "Stay near the cannons and ready your weapons." He said slowly to Alice, who nodded and instantly yelled the command, which made Harlow jump slightly. He gave her a look before moving away.. |

Sage was walking around his ship, checking in on things and making sure all his men were up and working. It wasn't like he was some cruel captain...he'd work alongside them...but they couldn't just slack off. No, there was always something to be done. The ship was their home, and if they wanted it to work well, then it needed to be well taken care of. Plus, well...sitting around getting drunk on rum wouldn't help anybody get gold or jewles or weapons. That wasn't exactly how this stuff worked. Sage himself knew how important keeping one's self fit and aware was...some of his crew didn't see the appeal in that. However, everyone worked, and sage wasn't afraid to punish those who refused to do so. Luckily, he kept a good relationship with most of his men, and they respected him as a captain. It wasn't always that way, since he was so young, but after a few battles he'd quickly earned their respect. He may not look like much...but he was strong and fast, and most importantly, he was smart. He could out-think most of those they had fought. Now, as something on the horizon caught his attention, he moved to stand on the bow of the ship, watching the oncoming vessel turn to come straight towards them. "Tell the men to ready for a battle," he instructed his first mate, a grizly old man who was rather pissy but someone he could talk to amout certain things. The man nodded and called out to the men on deck, and sage listened to the call travel through the ship before he checked his weapons and then stood there, waiting to fight alongside his men. He moved to tie his hair back into a sort of bun as he could see the men on the other ship running about, calling out a "ready your weapons," to his own crew, resting his wrist on his dagger hilt as he waited. If it wasn't a battle he didn't want to start one...but it sure looked that way to him. |

Harlow watched with interest and content as the ship slowly veered towards the other. Now, him and his crew weren't exactly being aggressive about the whole ordeal, but how did the other party know? All they saw was another ship barreling towards them. Harlow's face twisted, knowing that this one would most certainly end in a fight. Alice came up from behind him, walking down the stairs from the quarterdeck. "What now, Captain?" She asked standing shoulder to shoulder. "Ram them at full speed. We can predict their movements." He paused for a moment before continuing. "It'll look like we're retreating, allowing them to feel in control of the situation.. while everyone is at it, send a few men down to the gun ports..". Alice nodded and quickly spun around, before calling out, her voice already slightly raspy, "Ram them at full! Move down to the ports n' ready all weapons!" She commanded, voice demanding the ears of all who were on the main deck. Eventually the crew split up, some going down below to ready the cannons while others stayed above, weapons in hand, setting the sails, or looking from the crow's nest that hung from above, viewing the other ship. A young scrawny man was up in the nest before quickly shouting down, "Quickly approaching target!" . (I didn't know what else to say, sorry.) |

Sage watched the approaching ship closely, holding up a warning hand when his men started to get antsy. He didn't have to say anything...they kept themselves under control, though he did allow them to whisper to each other quietly. Keeping them completely silent was of no use to anyone here. He cocked his head slightly then, watching the ship move towards sages own ship. He wasn't going to allow them to get in a good range for cannons. That wasn't going to happen. He eventually moved slightly, brushing against the wheel as he went and turning it slightly, so his own ship would turn slowly, not enough to see really. But it would put the other ship at an awkward angle for their cannons to hit the Fury. This would ensure his vessel would be safe. He moved down to the railing then, which meant he was both closer to this other captain, but also closer to his crew. Which meant he could yell orders better. He could see the other ship doing...something, but he wasn't about to assume they were doing what they seemed to be doing. It was a bit too .. obvious. And he didn't trust anything. It would only prove to serve them well. He called out quiet orders to his crew, things like "ready the cannons," and "keep buckets handy for the sails and masts if they catch fire," and that sort of thing. |
