Sage grunted in agreement, nodding and waving. "Nothing you did to cause this," he mused, offering her a sort of tight smile before wandering out. He did say a quick hello to att and the doctor on his way out... Just making sure they were ok really. He wanted to get home as soon as possible. He got chaos put away quickly once he was back, and then slid into the now mostly clean house where he joined Mari in picking up broken plates and rearranging furniture that had been messed up, that sort of thing.

Mari was wandering around the house quickly, trying her hardest to make the place look somewhat... normal, before trying to scrub the blood out of the carpets and sweeping the broken dishes up. She looked up to Sage when him came in, her head slightly cocked curiously, essentially asking about... well, everything really.

Sage moved to greet Mari with a peck on the head, sighing slightly. "The castles as clueless as we are," he informed her quietly. "I told Anya I'd get out there and listen around...try to figure out what's going on. It looks like a bunch of random, unorganized groups," he added with a shrug. This wasn't something he could fight with fists or a knife...it was different. And it made him nervous. He couldn't predict what would happen next.

Mari nodded softly after a moment, chewing the inside of her lips. "You sure that's a good idea? To poke around?" She asked worridly. The last thing she wanted was for him to run around and get hurt trying to find something out just to get hurt or killed. Hell, they hadn't done anything and this had happened. "You've gotta be careful," she murmured, gesturing upstairs, where the kids were without a doubt still curled up together. If something happened, if he left her there with the kids while he was injured or dead, they wouldn't be able to look after themselves.

Sage pursed his lips slowly, nodding along. "I don't think any of them hold any real danger to us," he noted. "They're trying to get attention...breaking plates and ransaking a house is stupid but not necessarily dangerous." He shrugged. "But I'll be careful," he promised, tossing the last bit of broken glass in the trash can and then sitting down on the couch tiredly.

Mari gave him a look after a moment, and blew out a soft breath. "I dunno. What if they got their hands on the kids? Or they got into our room while we were sleeping? It could have been bad Sage. There's nothing to say they aren't dangerous," she murmured, going to put a few bits and bobs in the bin. If people saw him running around, trying to poke his nose in... they'd get grumpy. incredibly grumpy.

Sage let out a breath and a nod. "I'll just hang out in popular spaces and listen into conversations. I woke try to nose my way in," he relented after a moment. It could have been dangerous, he knew that. He knew that better than most. But it was also dangerous to not know anything. Hopefully, this would all settle down and they'd be ok. And hopefully, it would be soon

Mari gave a short nod after a moment, her eyes softening. She didn't like any of this. It wasn't her husbands job to fix problems. It wasn't his job to put himself in danger. If anyone caught on what he was trying to do, if they figured out he was gathering intel, it could be lethal for him, and the rest of the family. She closed her eyes, just looking down before letting out a long, slow breath. "You have to be careful, Sage," she murmured. It had been a good few hours, and the house looked... better. At least it was safe now for their children to come downstairs without standing on glass or broken plates, and they'd spent far too long fretting up in their rooms. She made some sandwiches up out of the food that hadn't been destroyed and wandered upstairs, hoping to be some sort of comfort to them.

Sage felt his own face soften in response to her comment, and he nodded. "I know," he murmured. "And I won't do it until we're all settled here again," he added. Nothing could happen if they didn't get information though, so it was important to get out there. He helped Mari make up lunch, and cleaned that up before wandering up to see the kids. They were pretty shaken up .. they all were really...but they'd handled it well. He couldn't help but feel slightly guilty though. If he'd been of a higher social class, their lives would have been so much better. This wouldn't have happened, Silas wouldn't have been kidnapped before. He felt like some of this was his fault, in a way. And he wasn't sure how to fix it. Even so, he settled on the floor with the kids and Mari, letting Liz crawl into his lap and curl in with a sort of sigh. They didn't deserve this.

Mari wandered upstairs to the kids, where they were all still curled up next to eachother. She sighed softly, and went to sit next to them with a soft sigh. They curled up next to her fairly quickly, and she gave a small hum as her arm wrapped loosely around Silas's side, and Liz leaned against her until Sage came up. It took a little bit of convincing to get them to eat something, but soon enough they gave in and ate their sandwiches slowly. She looked up when she felt Liz shift, only to see their father wandering in and eventually settling down next to them. She gave him a bit of a look, although soon moved to rest her head against his shoulder, and once Silas had finished eating he'd done the same.
