Sage wrapped an arm around Mari and the kids once he'd settled down in the floor and they'd leaned against him. It was nice to relax, after such an eventful morning, so he sort of just leaned his head back against the wall and closed his eyes, suddenly really tired as the morning sort of crashed down on him.

Mari stayed settled next to him, her arm around her son and her eyes on their daughter as she rested against Sage. They were both lulling in and out of sleep by now, and it looked like Sage was nearly there too. She sighed and gently poked his side after a few minutes, once she was sure the kids were asleep. "Go to bed for a while. We'll be alright," she whispered softly.

Sage half started when Mari poked him, blinking as he got his bearings and then grunted in agreement, shifting Liz off him gently and handing her over to Mari with a soft smile. "You should get some rest too," he noted softly to her. If she wasn't tired then he didn't expect her to go back to bed at all, but she was just just as early as he was.

Mari gave him an apologetic look when he began to stir, but wrapped an arm tightly around Liz when he moved. "I'll go rest tonight. I don't... I can't leave them," she whispered, gesturing to their exhausted children who where flat out. She leaned over to peck his cheek before carefully standing up, taking Liz back to her bed, then did the same with Silas. She tucked the sleeping children in carefully before pulling a chair over to sit near the bed she'd put the two in. She didn't want to leave them alone, and they seemed to be taking comfort in having each other there... so she just went to grab a book to read while they rested. She couldn't even begin to imagine what Silas would have been thinking that morning... it must have felt so similar to when he'd been kidnapped. The poor thing still had scars from that. Yet, he'd been brave, and he'd held onto his little sister like his life had depended on it, even if they were safe upstairs. Edited at May 10, 2025 06:10 PM by Belle

Sage pursed his lips slightly, nodding when she said she couldn't leave them. He understood that...and while he didn't really want to leave his little family either, he was also falling asleep on his feet. He'd only be a room over, and if something happened he'd know. So, he drug himself to his feet, moving to change into clean pajamas and then passing out pretty much the moment his head hit the pillow and he got himself nestled in.
