Sage had waved off Maris concern, but did check his step a little bit. He didn't exactly want to overdo it the moment he got home....he wanted to stay home, not get carted off to the ward again. As much as he loves his old room and the doctor, this was home home now. It was just.... different. And more peaceful. He grinned over at Mari as she finally wandered in, sort of reaching his arms out to her with a grin. She wasn't the biggest fan of the animals, no, but she didn't mind them either. And he wanted to be by her and the animals, so he figured she could put up with it for a few minutes....if she really minded and didn't want to be down here she wouldn't have come in the first place.

Mari gave a bit of a chuckle when he held his arms out to her, and kind of rolled her eyes before wandering over and wrapping her arms tightly around his waist for a moment. She looked up at him, her eyes filling with absolutely nothing but... well, relief she supposed. She was glad to be back, and Sage just seemed to light up with the sight of the horses. Being home, she supposed. She was more than glad about it all too. "You, sir, are glowing," she mused lightly to him after a few moments, clearly more than amused with the whole thing.

Sage sort of gave her a sheepish grin when she mentioned he was glowing, though that didnt damper his excitement of being back in the barn. "ive miss them. You. All of this," he noted with a sort of huff, though he obviously wasn't upset with her or anything. "Besides, you're looking pretty happy yourself," he added with a chuckle, moving to pat Chaos as the horse nudged him, clearly annoyed Sage had turned his attention to mari. Still, he managed to hold them each with one arm. It was a bit awkward, but he could lean into mari and still pet the horse. He really didn't mind it at all, and it was just nice to get back out to the barn. Eventually, though, he wore himself out, and he sighed, glancing back over at Mari. "You can't set me up a bed in here, can you," he asked knowing that would be a hard no from her. It was rather amusing really, which was honestly why he'd even asked.

Mari rolled her eyes and sort of pulled away from him after a moment. "I was complimenting you, Sage," she huffed, an amused chuckle escaping her. She really was amused by all of this. He never seemed to stop getting excited about being down here, and it really was rather adorable. She watched him pat chaos for a moment, a smile resting lightly on her lips. "I'm happy you're happy - you know that," she chirped. Her face just seemed to twist at his last comment, though. She'd go to the ends of the earth for him if he asked her to, but she would not, in any universe, set him up in the barn. Especially not while he wasn't 100% just yet. She huffed and shook her head. "Set you up a bed out here? You just got back, already that desperate to get away again?" She teased before sort of humming thoughtfully. "You know, though, it may be fun to set the hayloft up a little bit. Get some blankets out... maybe you and the kids can have a 'camping trip' to the barn," she hummed. It could be fun for them... but obviously it'd only be done when he was feeling better.

Sage had chuckled as she spoke, nodding along when she said he could definitely not sleep in the barn. At least, not yet. "Fine," he sort of grumbled, but there was no real malice in his voice. He knew she wasn't going to let him do that. He couldn't help but laugh though, as he stood, patting chaos one last time and then moving to wander out, with Maris help now that he was tired. "That would be nice," he agreed when she mentioned the camping trip. "They would enjoy that too," he thought out loud. He could imagine it already....though Mari would have to John then at some point.

Mari pouted slightly after a few moments, an amused chuckle escaping her. "Don't act grumpy. I just got you home, I'm not letting you run off to live in the barn," she mused. Although, she did want to set something up for him and the kids... it'd be fun for them, she was sure. Silas was more than old enough to have a few friends stay over too, if he wanted. She helped Sage back inside after a little while, and set him up in the living room with a little peck to the cheek.

Sage had sort of huffed out a dramatic breath of air, but nodded along. "I know, I know," he mused. Then he shrugged with a grin. "Can't blame me for trying," he added, sort of patting chaos goodbye and then letting Mari help him back down to the house and settle him in on the couch. He really didn't need all the blankets and such she shoved his way, but he did appreciate it all. He knew she'd still be worried, so if pampering him a bit made her feel better, then he'd put up with it. He just grinned up at her in response to her peck, squeezing her hand lightly. "Thanks babe," he hummed softly. "I know this hasn't been easy on you," he added softly.

Mari sort of snickered at his little huff, then rolled her eyes playfully. "Maybe when you're better i'll let you live out your days in the barn. For now, you stay here. With me," she murmured softly, pecking the top of his head when he'd settled down. She sort of shook her head, moving to sit on the side of the couch after a few moments when he'd squeezed her hand. "It's been hard on everyone. You know it's not your fault though, right? You didn't do anything wrong," she promised him gently after a few seconds.

Sage had chuckled softly at her comment, just settling down on the couch tiredly once he had all the pillows and blankets he could ever want. He hummed in agreement to Maris comments though, nodding. "There wasn't anything any of us would have been able to change about this whole thing, I don't think," he noted softly. "But it all worked out," he added after a few moments of silence.

Mari offered a soft smile after a few moments, kind of tucking Sage in so that he was comfortable... or as comfortable as he could be. She sighed after a little while, though. "No.. I don't think so. We just got lucky we could find you," she murmured, kind of shifting slightly where she was sat. She didn't know how long things were going to be okay for, or even if they'd ever be fully back to normal, but they could definitely try. Just make him feel safe. "It did. We're all just glad to be home," she breathed slightly, leaning in to peck his forehead softly.
