You knew your cat best, and if stopping his pain was the best decision, then you made it. Surgeries and treatments can become cruel after a certain point and sometimes the kindest thing you can do it let go.

The only things i'd really play with in this piece are the lighting and possibly softening the horse, depending on preference. Lighting changes would really make it pop, and I just personally prefer a softer horse.

As a whole though, looks great!

For sure! With me I just use the picker tool and select base, highlights, and lowlight colors. Then place them on a new layer and smudge. But i'm sure you'll figure it out quickly!
