Rose walked downstairs to Caden, kissing his head. "Thank you" She whispered, walking to the kitchen and sitting down, scrolling

Caden awoke immediately when she spoke, sitting up and staring off into a space for a moment before registering what she said. "Thank you...." He repeated her words, pondering for a second before his eyes went wide and he darted over to the doorway. "What do you mean...'thank you'?" The man asked, not wanting to get his hopes up.

"Even if this doesn't work, you tried. For me."

Caden was slightly dissapointed, since he got results almost instantly when he tested it. "Oh, yeah. You're welcome," He said quietly, walking back into his study.

Rose watched him with a slightly sad look on her face. "Caden?" She asked, trying to get his attention. She wanted to spend time with him...

"Hm?" He asked, leaning on the doorframe once more with the same tired expression.

Rose shook her head. "Never mind..." She muttered, wanting him to rest

He just dipped his head slightly, turning and heading to his study to grab a drink and see if he could fix his financial problems. Caden wasn't just losing thousands, or ten thousands, or even hundred thousands. The man was losing billions.

Rose went upstairs after a while, curling up on the balcony and accidentally falling asleep

Caden was in the overlook, staring out at the desert of Arizona as his mind started to scramble, twisting in places he never wanted it to. Eventually he started to let the tears roll down silently, not knowing what to do with life anymore.
