@someday, I live at home with my mom and are renters, but I think we deserve our deposit back when we move out. The previous renters didn't clean the carpets even though they were supposed to, left a bunch of junk in the garage, and we're three weeks late moving out.

I think the rental company is just trying to keep my entire deposit and padding the bill. I called the same company that did the cleaning and was quoted $50/hour for a move out deep clean of the same size house.

@PK, i've no doubt it is very hard work. I can understand the reason for having two people there as it helps keep the workers accountable. I am just surprised it cost that much.

Bird, we were just charged $1,300 for a move out deep clean by the rental company we were leasing from. I have disputed it, because holy cow! I am in the wrong line of work if that is the price for cleaning a 3 bedroom house for 3 hours. I happen to know it took them 3 hours because I bought the house across the street and was home when they were there. I dont think the rental company realizes I could see the whole thing.

I can clean my house by myself in 2 1/2 hours, but these companies are saying it takes two people the same amount time.

@Angels, since you have both a big and small enclosure I don't think trying the bigger one would hurt since you can always put them back in the smaller one. Whereas when I had a reptile I didn't want to worry about buying a whole other enclosure.

Okay I may start getting more supplies for it then. I have had bad experiences with putting baby reptiles in too big of an enclosure and they can't find their food, then I have to downgrade them so they do well

I have an empty 20 gallon long tank and I am debating putting my baby leo in it. Right now he is in a platic bin cage that is about the size of a 10 gallon just not as tall. I am always worried about putting baby reptiles in too big of a cage. Online it says a baby is supposed to go in a 20 gallon but I don't know. thoughts?

A bit of a bitter sweet weekend. Tim and I had some of our best rides ever at a show this weekend, we placed in every class, even our SMS which is usually both of our weakest points. We were lined up for a high point, and then my last class rolls around. Had the best ride i've ever had on him. Unfortunately though, anyone who shows at all breed shows knows, that a solid horse among tons of paints usually is not getting paid attention to much. I was obviously still so thankful to even be on the judges card after a big class, but both placed me low enough that I lost what would've been my first major high point. It's something i'm still getting over, but I really couldn't of asked for more out of Tim, so i'm overall happy with this weekend.

Tim looks so amazing in this! He's put on so much muscle and weight since I got him in September. His frame just speaks for itself LMAO, he's came even farther training wise, so proud of what this guy is becoming!

Ok so it's very known that I suck at updating this LMAO.

Ive gotten a few pms in regards to if Timmy and I are at either Pinto or Paint Worlds, and I honestly think it's super cool that people are interested in watching us show! So here's the short answer to that:
Tim currently is not currently at Pinto or Paint Worlds unfortunately! If he was at either I would definitely put out where he was stalled/our classes so you guys could come watch! Although some of my team is showing at Worlds it's been soo exciting to watch. Our team at Paint is currently 6x Paint World Champ, 3x Reserve Paint Champ after only being there less than a week! Some of our other girls that went to Pinto are killing it aswell!

And finally, our congress plans! We will be there from the 7th-12th, I'll get more info on this posted later! :)

Leaving tomorrow morning for another show! We lessoned yesterday during one of the worst storms of the year LMAO, Tim handled it so well, and quite frankly didnt even think twice about it despite being able to hear heavy rain/hail and constant thunder (We were in our indoor obviously) Banding and bathing tonight! :)

Tim put on his HUS legs pretty well today! Placings in everything today, and couldn't be more happy with our rides. All western tomorrow, and that's a wrap!

Western used to be our weak point, but with tons of work it's been switched around. This show english was our weak point (Still placing top 6 in every class out of 20+) We had some of our best western rides, and even managed to pull a top 2, top 3, and lots more! Super happy with him.

Days off + Flies
Well, let's talk about it! Sundays and Monday's are usually always Tim's off days, wether it's both, or one or the other. Our barn is basically on the water, which is gorgeous, but comes with its own issues of course. The main, and biggest issue is the bugs. I'm not going to say what state we're in/where Tim was purchased from, but we got Tim from way up north. What we've learned as we've talked to other people who have also gotten their horses from up north, is they react/are more sensitive to bugs/flies down here. So being on the water = more bugs, and Tim being a huge bug baby don't go well together! As the weather gets hotter, the bugs get worse, and Tim can even get as bad as breaking out in hives everywhere. I figured I'd share some of my routine to keep him nice and comfortable during the sweaty, hot, fly season.
-
For starters, fly spray and swat (clear) are your best friends when it comes to keeping them comfortable. Swat is some of the strongest stuff on the market for horses, so it really does work great. I use a combination of reapplying fly spray several times a day, and swat on a daily basis. Tim ALWAYS goes out with a fly mask atleast, and then depending on how hot it is a fly sheet/neck cover. With our summers here, it can get too hot to keep fly sheets on in stalls, so he just gets left without anything on, and a fan to keep the air circulating. Luckily, his stall isn't too bad with bugs, but if it were the case, hanging a fly trap somewhere your horses can't reach is the best option. The last thing I always do is curry! There's literally an endless amount of benefits to currying, and one of the obvious ones is it helps get all of their itchy spots, which will result in a happier, less itchy, horse.

This weekend was one I'll never forget❤️ Tim was so amazing for everything, and even got me our first reserve high point as a team! Not only that, but also got his leaser a overall high point in the w/t! So much love for this horse, he truly is amazing.
