Sage hummed softly and nodded, slowly working on washing himself up with the cloth he had in his hand. "He knows what he's doing," he noted simply. The doctor would go at a pace he knew he could handle. Besides, extra slow seemed ..well, extra slow. He wanted to go faster than that. He was a bit impatient, he supposed. He smiled softly at Mari as she mentioned getting home, though, and he nodded. "I know," he hummed. "I'm just impatient," he added with a chuckle.

Mari watched him for a few moments, her brows pinching softly together after a few moments. "He does, but the better you feel the better I feel," she chuckled. If he wasn't in pain, she was happy... although she supposed he couldn't be on meds for too long. She nodded slightly when he said he was impatient. She would be too if she was in his position. "I know," she mused slightly, offering a friendly smile. "We all want you home too, you know - it's not just you," she mused.

Sage chuckled softly as she spoke, but moved to lean over and peck the side of her head gently. "I know," he noted. "But honestly I feel better without so many drugs dulling everything down." He wasn't in much pain, but still...less medicine was better he thought. At least by now. He felt a small smile form on his face as she mentioned wanting him home, and he just nodded along. "I'd hope so," he noted with a small laugh. "If you didn't want me back, I'd be a little bit concerned," he added lightly, really just glad to joke around a bit. He did attempt to scrub the shampoo into his hair, but quickly gave up and handed the bottle off to Mari with a slightly sheepish and rather apologetic look.

Mari sort of felt a slight snicker escape her after a few moments, and sort of leaned in to peck the tip of his nose. "Only a little bit concerned?" She huffed in playful grumpiness, grabbing the bottle from him and working the shampoo into his hair. "Well, Sage, I'd be very concerned if you didn't come home. Imagine how Amber would react?" She snickered. (Short, on the run) Edited at June 19, 2025 04:21 PM by Belle

(all good lol) Sage couldn't help but laugh as Mari snickered and teased him right back ....it was good to know she was still settled enough to joke around. Sure, she was stressed, just as they all were, but it wasn't as bad as it could be. They were all healing. "I don't think Amber or any of the horses would appreciate that very much," he mused lightly. "Though I'm sure they're becoming quite fond of Anthony by now," he added with a fond chuckle, leaning into her hands as she scrubbed the shampoo in and then ducking under the water to rinse it out once she was done. He did feel better after cleaning up, he supposed.

Mari offered a slight smile at his laugh, glad to see he was at least... laughing. She knew he was stuggling being sat up here all day, but he was at least trying to be up beat about it all. She could be happy if he could be happy. "Oh, they love Anthony. And Xander. You'll be lucky if they even remember you, babe," she mused. She helped him wash his hair off before moving to grab him a towel and helping him out the bathtub carefully.

Sage chuckled softly and nodded, sort of relaxing after a moment and accepting maris help. It felt good anyway....he'd always liked it when she'd rubbed his head and whatnot. He got out somewhat quickly after that though, since he wanted to finish the drawings and get them off to Anya. The quicker he could get them down the better. "Oh, I'm sure they do," he mused fondly. "Though I may get scolded by a few of them when I come back," he added with a soft chuckle, toweling down and then changing into some clean clothes.

Mari helped him get changed into some cleaner clothes, nodding slightly in agreement. "You're definitely gonna get scolded. Poor old Chaos is gonna have a meltdown at you - and Amber," she hummed. She looked him up and down for a moment before pinching her brows together. "We can head back tomorrow if you'd like," sge offered slowly. He was mostly doing all this by himself now anyway. She could set him up downstairs so he didn't have to deal with the stairs... it might be good for him.

Sage chuckled as she mentioned chaos and amber, but nodded along. "Hopefully I'll be there when she has her kittens," he mused. "I'm not sure she'll forgive me if I'm not," he added with fond amusement. He perked up when she mentioned heading back tomorrow, and nodded eagerly. "I'll have the doctor give you a bottle of paint meds in case it gets bad," he noted, knowing she'd be worried about that. But he did feel alright, and he was mostly weaned off of the meds now anyway. "I think that would be good,* he added. He would be glad to head home. He enjoyed seeing the doctor and Anya, but they were here on business really. He moved to grab the sketch he'd been working on as he settled in the bed, letting out a sigh. "The other ones done....can you bring it up to Anya," he asked Mari after a moment. "This one should be done by tonight."
