Sage helped where he could, taking care of three of the babies himself while the girls did the rest, in their own little corner.

Celeste helped put them down before retreating back to Odessas room and under the mass of blankets. Odessa banished Xander to the couch and Odessa curled up with her friend. "Do you wanna talk about it now?" Odessa asked gently. "It's just.... the kids are so much... I love them all, but they're a lot... and i love Sage and I know he wants to go hang out with the Weres, and I know I let him, but he was put so late last night and I had to deal with the kids all night... it just feels like he's not there for me anymore..."

When Celeste left without even saying a word to him, sage frowned, clutching the baby he held to his chest to try and comfort his own emotions, moving to go back to the guest room and slide into a corner, just sitting there and zoning out the window.

Odessa rubbed Celestes back. "We've never even been on a date before..." Celeste sniffled. "Our relationship was so rushed... we got married and had kids before we were together a full year... and we never celebrated our anniversary... i don't even know if he remembered... i still love him... i just wonder if we went too fast and now its catching up to him that he might not really love me..."

Sage found himself dozing off in the corner, but jerked himself awake, getting to his feet and pacing back and forth across the room in an attempt to stay awake. He couldn't sleep....not how. What if Celeste needed something? He'd have to do better, he decided. Convince her to even just talk to him, even if she was bored or upset. Maybe if he did something different she'd be happier.

Celeste started crying. "I love the kids too, but i just wanna go out and have fun... I want him to get me flowers... and go out on dates... i just wanna break..." she cried.

|
Sage just continued pacing, ears flattening against his head. He could hear her crying, but couldn't make out the words. It was terrible. He wanted to go comfort her, but she'd said no.

Odessa rubbed her shoulders. "Honey, then you need to talk to him," she murmured. Celeste cried. "I know, I know... i want to... i just-...."

|

|
Sage eventually groaned and packed up the kids he had in his arms, trusting Xander to watch the others. He practically ran outside and into the yard, where he couldn't hear Celeste crying any more, sinking down against the rock wall fence that surrounded the property.

"How bout you just go talk to him, okay?" Odessa offered. Celeste sniffled and nodded, getting up with her and going out to find him, but he wasn't there. Again, he wasn't there for her. Celeste cried harder, running back into Odessas room and burying herself in the pillows on her bed.
