i also personally do not think straights are part of the queer spectrum unless it is accompanied by gender-queerness (trans, enby, agender, genderfluid, etc.) !! /lighthearted it was mentioned earlier in the thread haha i've been thinking about it 🤔

I mean queer sort of implies different from the accepted societal norm, so 🤷♂️ And if we're talking about if it's part of the LGBTQ+ umbrella, that term is also used to refer to marginalized identities, so it would be excluded! But that's not a bad thing! These terms are tied to movements fighting for rights and freedoms of minority groups, it's okay, expected even, for the majority/normalized identites to not be included lol

I love how people like you don't acknowledge existence of intersex people, therefore making your statements incorrect at the start XD

Don't forget such things like androgen insensitivty syndrome, where someone is genetically XY but appears to be a woman.

I had to put 'no'. I am so boring myself. But have many creative friends, including my uncle who would say yes. xx

As someone who studies sociology, intersex is genuinely such an interesting topic. Looking at different social constructions and how deeply they are embedded in our perspectives of the world, sometimes even eliminating the truth, is so interesting to me (as well as disturbing at times).

I know of the two-spirits, whom I believe were Native Americans who identified as nonbinary, and they were celebrated for their unique perspectives and wisdom that came from not being forced into a gender box.

You're right, I just pulled off the easiest example that came to mind first

Personally I don't support this, I don't mean any hate, and I'm nice to those who express this 'lifestyle' (not trying to be offence I just am not educated on terms lol). I've just had a bad experience with people trying to force these gay/lgbtq (lifestyles? Not sure if that's what I'm looking for?)on me then call me a slut, whore, whitch, etc when I wouldnt say that I agreed with it, it's been so forced on me it seems sorta like this is the only way. It goes against my beliefs but again I mean no hate. I hope this doesn't get taken wrong and again I'll say I mean no offence it's just based off of my beliefs that I have formed and I mean no hate since everyone is their own person. Edit: Rephrased using Eurys corrections, also removed the '<3' I didn't realize those were offensive and though they were just hearts Edited at March 1, 2025 12:38 AM by Wolf Dancer

It's not a belief. A belief is the idea that something is true without any evidence. Sexuality and gender identity is a fact. People don't choose their sexuality or gender identity anymore than you choose to be straight (I assume)...Which is, they don't choose it. Literally, why is it such a big deal about what people do with their lives and who they choose to love? No one is forcing you to do anything except, you know, treat people with respect. It's actually funny, in a sad sort of way, that if I said christianity is against my beliefs due to they way I've been treated...People would be coming out of the woodwork...And frequently do. (By the way, the heart emojis come off as very passive aggressive).
