I'm sick and feeling kinda bad. Like can't concintrate well, muscle phasms, and my nose is going back and forth being snuffy and running. O.o

Snow,

Ohhh fair! I prefer not to be able to touch if I’m swimming in a lake since the bottom is usually kinda gross.

As long as I can see the bottom of the water, the depth makes no difference to me

I was hoping to see/hear more birds than I did but I still observed a common loon and a red-breasted nuthatch, that brings my species total in the U.S. for the year up to 91 species!

Plated prisoner is so good!
On a whim after seeing a single video on TikTok with just fanart: I've just bought Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros on audible. Has anyone read it?

Had a look at the first one, looks interesting! Something I might read- must see if they're on Audible plus or KU....
A bounty hunter series I recently read was Katie Ruggle's Rocky Mountain Bounty Hunters series (unfinished). I loved them (I love Katei Ruggle, I discovered her in Jan and by March I'd read all of her books)!

How major is the romance in Fourth Wing? I've heard good things about the book but I generally dislike reading romance.

I'd say the romance is a big part of it. It's an enemies-to-lovers slow burn so the romance becomes a big thing in the third act, but it's a major point of the plot line.

Finally sat down to read Mad Honey by Jodi Picoult and absolutely devoured it in hours. I love her books and have read just about all 20+ of them (anything I'm missing is on hold from the library).

My favorite beyond a doubt is The Book of Two Ways, followed closely by Leaving Time and Lone Wolf. I love how the writing submerses you into knowledge and you just absorb it without overwhelming or out-of-place feelings. The depth of research the author has done for these books (and all the others) has given me added affection for Egyptology, Elephants and Wolves respectively.

I come asking for any recommendations that are similar (if possible). Murder mystery part isn't necessary. Daily life with immersive interest would be nice.
