I would've done live plants but my betta kept attacking and breaking them every chance he got. So I did silk. And then resorted to a sponge filter because the water flow was too much for him lol

@Charm, lol that is different!

I do keep a HOB (hang on back) filter in my betta tank, as well as a sponge filter. However, I have a metric shit-ton of live plants that break up the water flow. And my betta seems to defy all the rules and actually likes hanging out near the outflow of the filter *glares lightly at Nalo* he also made friends with two female guppy fry I tossed in for him to snack on, so now he has friends, which I never figured would happen.

I have a 135 gallon tropical tank, a 40 gallon guppy tank that I (regretfully) neglect, and a 20 gallon tank. The 20 gallon is my betta tank and requires the absolute most work to keep it clean. The smaller the tanks, the more difficult they are to maintain, in my opinion!

Bettas are also tropical, so they require a heater. And they're very sensitive to filters with any kind of water flow, and require sponge filters instead therefore

Yes. 10% water change a week, and checking water parameters frequently

@Versa, even a betta aquarium?
Versailles
09:45:27 Versa
I had a betta as a starter fish. With any fish, it's important to remember aquariums are a heck ton of work

Plants don’t add bacteria but they do consume some of the toxins
Hummingbird Meadows

@Em, that's a good idea. Do the plants add bacteria too?
ZequineZ

Beneficial bacteria can be hit or miss I’ve heard but I personally have had good results with it. If you can steal some established filter media from someone that boosts it too

If you add beneficial bacteria which you can get at pet stores it can make it faster :)

With cycling though you have to take into account a brand new fresh tank can run forever but unless something is put into the system, it will never be cycled because the beneficial bacteria doesn't have anything to feed on

Yeah I did have issues with nitrite for months myself thinking back

@Zz, just a month is nothing. I can do that. My research says 10-12 weeks which is like 3 months!

Varian, first of all you need to make sure you spell the credits correctly. cPintrest.com does not take you anywhere with images. Second, if you mean Pinterest you cannot use Pinterest as a stock provider. You will want to get your images from an approved source.

I guess I'm confused. So if the image we use for our profile picture is ours, do we put a (c) in our usename to say the image is ours? Or do we say so in our profile desc./ bio?

All credits must go on the image.

I guess it's because I have my watermark on it, but it's my usual watermark ( co.png that stands for corrupted_png/corrupted.png) and not my stable name on here. If I fix the watermark to also say Noblesse, will that be good/fix it?

If it's 100% yours, just using your stable name or number on the image will be fine.

This may be a stupid question, do we have to credit fonts?

If it's from a font source, such as DaFont, yes.
If it is from the editor that you are using, I don't believe so.
