<div style="text-align: center;">Chapter 3
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: center;">I have had Andy for 3 months now. We had total and complete trust in each other. Andy would come running from his 3 acre field at the sound of my voice or whistle. I had started turning him out with the other horses 2 weeks after he was gelded. Andy thought it was great, but by the end of the day he wanted his grain in his 15x15 stall. He was now comfortable around other people, halters and blankets. He didn't even care about wooden boards. Which was the greatest surprise to me as he was beaten twice daily with a 2x4, breaking his nose multiple times. I was beginning to see Andy's true personality and it was a great one. He was independent but kind and loving, I used to go in his run out and just sit and he would come up to me and even laying down with me. Andy lived other horses and enjoys there company. His favorite was a big baby mare named Bliss. They got along wonderfully from the start.<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: center;">A few weeks ago, I had an idea. Andy was 7 years old and in the prime of his life. He was also just standing in the pasture. After everything he was even sound. I decided to ride him, but he had never felt a saddle or bit and I wanted to keep it that way. I argued with myself for a week before finally coming to a compromise. I would ride Andy bare back and with a neck rope, hackamore or bitless bridle. Whatever he liked best.<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: center;">Can you guys tell this is a made up story?

<div style="text-align: center;">Chapter 4
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: center;">I took a deep breath and grabbed the reins to Andy's neckrope. We had been practicing for this moment. I swung my leg over his back and pushed off the mounting block. As I steadied myself, realization hit me. I was riding the horse I had rescued from slaughter. I squeezed my legs and Andy strode off in a large floaty walk. I couldn't stop a huge grin from appearing on my face. Andy and I walked around the arena both directions at a walk. We were so connected you could tell where human ended and horse started. I was feeling the trust so I clucked to Andy, he started into a huge wonderful floaty trot that was a dream to sit. I only rode h for about 10 minutes that day but it was one of the best days of my life. I was so proud is my rescue horse. <div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: center;">The next week I was talking to Andy and I realized he didn't know his name. So I stole the opportunity and renamed him Trooper, because that's what he was. Trooper, Troopy I called. He looked at me and gave a low nicker. You like it I asked with a laugh.
