"What can I do or say that will help you know that you're not like him?" Adele was desperate now, still clinging onto his arm.

"Nothing. Don't worry about it, baby." He said, trying to keep his voice level and soft. He sighed, sitting beside her. "My kingdom is falling apart, my mother wants you dead, my father she killed--whom was a horrible man, but still it proves she can and will kill someone--, I can't protect you, your advisors don't want a truce anymore, at least not for quite a while, you love me but how long until people make you turn away from me? I know you're stressed, I know I'm not helping, I love you more than you'll ever know and more than anything or any words can describe."

Adele listened to him, gazing into his eyes with sorrow and compassion. She wished she knew what to say to make him feel better, but no words came to her. Instead, she simply wrapped her arms around him and whispered, "Caelan, I'm so sorry."

"I should be the one comforting you, darling. Your civilians were just attacked and your parents were murdered by my own mother who I failed to containe"

"That's not your fault. None of this is. It happened this way, so we have to adjust to it. No one is to blame." She tried to sound courageous but the way her voice wavered said otherwise.

Adele sighed. "Do whatever you want to. Tomorrow I have to go and sort out the aftermath of the battle, which won't be fun to see. You can stay or go back to your castle. I know you have important things to do, too."

"But I don't want to leave you alone with all of...this" He said, gesturing toward the door

(writer's block is happening) Adele smiled bravely. "I'll be fine. Alban will be fine. Don't worry about it."

fr xd) "Send word if you need me, love." He said, kissing the top of her head. "I love you" he added, turning and leaving to the stables. He saddled up and took aurora back to the night kingdom before calling basically a war meeting with his soldiers, furious. "So..lemme get this straight because I can't believe this myself. You defied the truce I had carefully built like a stack of cards, stormed the Day Kingdom gates, murdered the king and queen, killed likely hundreds of innocent civilians, then went after my girlfriend?!" He roared, pacing the front of the room. "Y-yes, sir..." The head guard muttered. Caelan's head shot up as he jabbed a finger toward the man who'd spoke. "Don't 'yes, sir' me." He snapped coldly, his wings unfurling with anger
