I think a lot of people think keeping live aquarium plants is hard, but most of the common ones you find you don't have to do any extra things to care for them. Maybe take out any dead leaves when they have them but they live off of the waste from the fish

I don't have a full picture of the set up but here is my boy and you can kind of see the set up. I did cycle the tank before hand

Bird, With fish tanks bigger is actually easier, it depends on the space you have available but with the nitrogen cycle bigger tanks are much easier to maintain water quality, smaller tanks are more likely to have something like an ammonia spike happen quicker. Big tanks are much more forgiving. I have a 500L which I upgraded from. 300L. Those are both too big for a betta though so don’t think you need that. 5-10g will be perfect

That is literally where they originate. It isn't spreading anything. They originate from thailand and asia and live in stagnant pools.

Never to big for aquariums! Always go the biggest you can afford!

@Zz, I was thinking of a 5 gallon or maybe even 10 gallon, but I'm worried that might be too big.

I just wanna jump in to say the ‘live in puddles’ part is a harmful notion to be spreading, 2.5g is the absolute bare minimum, 5g is the ideal minimum
Hummingbird Meadows

@Angels, can I get a photo of it? Did you cycle the tank with the live plants beforehand?

I have mine in a 2.5 gallon with some rocks a small filter and bubbler and I do have live plants but it isn't necessary. The only reason people recommend live plants is the plastic ones can tear their fins, but you can also get the silk ones. In the wild they literally live in puddles so they are fine with anything, but obviously you want to take care of them lol

@Angels, really? Can I ask what your setup is? I feel like it sounds really complicated because everyone reccomends live plants.

This mare is told to have had a foal this year and is a EWW so has presumably been bred every year but there is no breeding history I'm so confused!? HEE Click

Strange- her offspring tab won't pop up either?
I would say this is a bug but my mares I've checked are unaffected

Maybe if we found one of her foals and checked the pedigree? Maybe theres something in there. Otherwise I'm not sure, that is weird.

Oh wait. Did she have an embryo extracted from her? And it still needs to be implanted in a surrogate mare? That could definetely be it. If that is the case that would be why the foal isn't showing up, because the embryo hasn't been implanted and the foal hasn't been born.

But that wouldn't explain for her other years? Unless she hadn't been bred till this year, when embryos came out, she's got zero training aswell..

That mare was never used. She's been there for months, saw her as a 2 year old :p
