Trying to shift things around in the compounds is so hard on mobile. I definitely think there should be another option to do it as well

thing with mine is i somehow got it to work once, moved a pasture to it, but now i cant delete it because its not empty. i cant empty it because i cant get it to work again- it was a miracle that it worked at all to begin with. now clicking and dragging anywhere within a compound or on a pasture/barn just drags the while compound smh

I've never tried to make compounds before and seemingly I won't in the future either. Deleted that pastureland again if I cannot put a pasture in there. Shame, because I really liked that picture.

I just tried to build a pastureland for my memorial garden, that worked, but when I tried to actually drag my memorial garden in there it did not work, it only switches all pastures up and down and the memorial one stays empty. Is there any trick to that on how to 'de-anchor' the memorial from the other pastures?

Awesome!

I did a quick forum search for "Member Show" and "Arena" to see if I could find you any more information.

Unfortunately, the most relevant to your questions is:
-HEE Click-

But it's a year old.

Some interesting bits were about players asking how to participate in member shows with some quick tips on what horses to pick for the most profit.

- if you get your arena up and running, you're welcome to message me and I'll send a couple entries your way

Hi,

1. Yes. According to the Game Guide under Member Shows and Arenas - Only those horses entered who are in the top percentile come away with prize money, which is directly related to the entry fee.
2. I believe so (I don't have an arena).
It's important to note the best case scenario is to have all classes with the maximum entries to get the best return.
There's a happy medium of the entry fee to the number of participants.

Personally, I like to enter with fees below 10k and above 200 ebs.

Check out the member shows to see what others are doing. Click through the shows and see how many entrants in each class, their fee, and how often they run (every three days or weekly, or club based).

Some days there are a ton of Cross Country shows and other days there aren't any.

Heyy!
Hope everyone is well... I have 2 questions
1. Do the member shows that have higher entry fees have higher prizes?
2. If I make the entry fee higher for a member show (I own an arena), will I get more money?

I have a few lesson students. They all ride my horses and a beginner/beginner - intermediate. I know how to reach and have been teaching for a while, soIm not looking for critique or other negative feedback. I'm asking, if any other instructors or people who have taken lessons, if there is any exercise the really liked. Either because it was super fun, really helped the students or was fun to teach. I'm looking for flat based exercises mainly for more beginnerish level riders.

I love kicking poles out and making them really make sure they make it through the middle, so that they learn how to steer and really get from point a to point b in a straight line. For the little little kids, if they're in a round pen I'll make them drop the reins and trot with their hands on their head, on their hips, touching the pony's mane, touching the cantle of the saddle, touching the pommel, and asking them little quiz questions about parts of the pony or the tack.

Once they have the basic walk trot thing down (not perfect but just able to go on their own) my instructors used to make me stand in the stirrups to develop balance and a more independent seat!

There are dozens of exercises and manuevers to work through depending on the rider's levels.

Basics -

If you put colored tape or objects by various parts of the riding area (round pen or arena) you can use them for tons of landmark directions. Or if you work in an arena with dressage letters (although not always fun for littles to only work on letters). example - Walk from the green tape to the red tape (point A to point B). Work on walk, halt, changing directions. Trot/canter. two point, no stirrups, one handed, sit trot, rising trot. - Simon Says (Intructor says).

Red Light Green Light -

Stand in the center or end of ring - call out red or green light (they should try to get to you (or touch the rail past you) without being caught by you - it's free to go on green light, but must stop when red light called. - if independent riders, face away at green light, and 'catch' them at red light if they move. Can throw in 'punishments' if caught moving - five steps back, lose stirrups for two laps of two point/posting, etc.

Barrel or Pole Pattern

Doesn't matter if English or Western - a pattern is great for steering work, control, and balance. If you don't have barrels or rodeo poles - use cones (so easy to set up any course without bulky objects)

I warmed my littles up with stretching exercises

Dropped stirrups/reins and work on stretching arms forward/backward (reach for ears/tail); windmill arms; touch toes with hands (left-left, right-right, left-right, right-left); wiggle legs, ankles, toes; roll head [show how heavy the head is and how big of a role your eyes affect steering]; play Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes (point to body parts. Apply to horse (ears, mane, withers, tail etc.).

All the stretching gets the rider loose and less tension, better balance, seat sinking into saddle, shoulders rolled back and hips open, arms moving with horse.

'Grocery Shopping' - set out grooming brushes around the arena (on the rail or on barrels/jump standards, etc.) and give the rider a bucket - either they carry it with them or you carry it while they steer. They have to steer towards the item, halt, and pick up the item - put into basket, and walk on. If multiple independent riders, make it a race game.

For more advanced students -

Leap Frog for cantering - student in front canters until they are at the back of the group, then repeat.

Swap horses - ride 'your' horse for fifteen/ten minutes, then switch, ride for 10-15 minutes, and switch again (repeat). You could have them back on their original horse - discuss the differences, pros/cons, easy/difficult, whatever they noticed between horses.

Musical Stalls - set ground poles to form a stall for each horse. One less than the players. Play music and stop it randomly.

If you have advanced students and can ride with them (or trail ride)

Follow the leader - have them follow you then after five minutes, switch to the next rider as a leader and they get five minutes to do whatever.
