I’m finally getting my first pair of tall riding boots because my mom said I could. The only problem is that she’s looking for ones <$75 and that just isn’t possible to get one worth the money, I’m looking online at Dover and I get mixed reviews for most of the boots. Can anybody recommend some boots about $175?

If you're done growing I'd recommend Ariats. I've had a pair for around 7 years and they're still in good condition. They'd definitely be out of budget but they last forever.

Look on Facebook. Some people have very nice used boots for cheap.

Yes I was going to say, look on Facebook groups or on Kijiji, you can usually find some pretty good quality stuff that is gently used for really good prices.

Ariats, as high quality and amazing as they are, only fit a select foot shape. I personally have a wide foot and don’t fit into anything, even 10s, and I’m an 8. If you have wide feet, I like Dublin. I have a pair that I have had since 5th grade that I have grown into, and I wear them every day. What foot type do you have?

I’m not sure, I’ve been told my foots wide and given the gypsy stallion at the barn I ride at broke my toe I’d say so as well because if it wasn’t so wide it wouldn’t be broken

I'd go with Tredstep. They are very comfortable and easy to break in, keep their shine, and I prefer their general look over Ariat. I am not a fan of Ariat tall boots due to bad experiences I've had with them. Their paddock boots are just ok, nothing too special. When I got my new Tredstep Donatello III Tall Boots, all it took was one ride and they were broken in. Many people at my barn who have Ariats complain about how hard they are and prohibit movement. When I tried Ariat tall boots for myself before making a decision, I could not get over how rock hard their soles were, how tight their ankles were (practically so suffocating that my foot went numb just standing there and I have a regular size calf), and how limited movement I had in them. I could barely walk up the stairs trying them! Those are just my two cents about the brands. If you want something easy to break in, comfortable, appealing to the eye and not too pricey, definitely go with Tredstep! I promise you, you'll love them! :)

I would check out these, www.doversaddlery.com/donatello-ii-field-boot/p/X1-380919/

They are under your price range and are very nice, sturdy boots for their price. Hope I helped!
