Showing is probably the best way to earn EBS (eden bucks). Quests are amazing as a starter too, I earned lots from quests before I understood showing or used the BM (Barn Manager).

I just wouldn't do money sink quests, such as the capture quests because you wouldn't actually earn anything off of those. Item quests, for example, tend to be good like explore or breeding quests. (Ch breeding quests ruin me </3)

You can earn a few ebs off of explore too, and games, but those are more of side ways to earn rather than something super reliable and longer term.
