I have always wanted a horse. I can 100% buy one right now but I know that the cost of the food, vet, shelter etc I don't have at the moment or at least I don't have enough that im comfortable that if something happened I can cover it. So I will wait :)

The least expensive part of purchasing a pup is the price of the pup. As you said if they can't afford vet bills, food etc they shouldn't have a dog
Athelwood Estates

Oh geez. I always tell people animals and pets are a privilege and definitely not a right. So if you can't afford them or won't take care of them don't get them. It's simple. I breed Irish Setters and my application process is rigorous. If they complain about the cost upfront then I won't sell them a pup. If you can't afford the purchase price of a dog then you are in for a treat when you realize how much vet bills, food, grooming, and training cost.

Fawn it’s unfortunate for sure. Here we don’t barely ever get in actual pregnant dogs, we just get the puppies dumped in town >.> the rescues here are bad to let them be born to use as fundraising tools

They look a lot better!
They do still look kinda like a blob on the ground though. Thing about where the lights coming from and the shape of the horse. Looking at RL photos as well as others art can help give you an idea of where shadows should be. Make sure your edges are nice and soft. The hardness and the darkness/lightness of a shadow will vary between pieces.
Overall it just takes a lot of practice.

What device do you use for your art?

Hey Raindrop!

My best critique would be to work on realistic shadowing, like others have suggested. Your shadows are off to a great start! They are just too dark and too shapeless at the moment.

These DA tutorials might help!

I would also make sure that your subject and background are well matched (size-wise). The second horse (the bay on the wood pier) stands out the most for me. He is pretty tiny, compared to the wood planks. :)

Otherwise, you do a pretty good job of finding stock with decent matching lighting/coloration to your backgrounds. Keep practicing! So many things come from just trying new things. <3 You are on your way.
