Fair enough. The only thing that's weird about Ps is that they can stall out at level 9 and show for multiple weeks at average to good until finally reaching schoolmaster. I don't see that happening much with higher ratings.

Perhaps breeding off the LBs has a big influence.
I can only say what has worked very well for me.

Interesting. I show mainly Es and Ws just because I breed for LBs, but my E/P combo horses almost always outperform the Ws in terms of winnings, and they tend to make a lot of money within their P discipline.

yes that makes sense too munn.. i've got a few WEE combo geldings i figure will do better long term. might be good to have a balance though and just FR the P's when they stop doing well. :/

What's you're reasoning on that Munn? They can still get 1-7 place pretty easily.

While Ps may stay in the money longer, when they get up in the higher levels, they tend to not break even with the entry fees.

Many big showing stables prefer P geldings because they don't level up as fast as E & W horses and they stay in the money longer.

I wasn't sure if I wanted to put this in The Paddock or Rider's Lounge, but uh.. Guess I ended up here lol. Anywho-

I want to get a helmet cam for riding the horses. Obviously, my first thought was a GoPro. I have no clue what to look for though, and I'd have to do a bit more saving to be able to comfortably afford the cheapest GoPros I've seen. I was hoping I could get y'all to tell me which GoPro/s you'd recommend, or if there are cheaper (but still quality) helmet cams you know of.

Thanks in advance <3

I aboslutley love the GoPro 7 black! It is waterproof and the quality is amazing of the riding. The audio is not as good as the GoPro 8 and it is also not as stable as the GoPro8 in terms of if you are at anything faster than a walk, the video will be a little bit bumpy. The GoPro 8 is not as bouncy but the image/video quality is very saturated and not as good as the 7 in that aspect and the 7 in general is better from what I have seen overall. The 7 is much much cheaper than the 8 and is better. The 7 works really well as a helmet cam and everything that has been recorded by my family(hiking, snorkeling, skateboarding ect) has all turned out beautifully and I believe it would be amazing as a helmet cam for riding horses as it is clearer than the other versions, does not break easily and is overall a really good quality product. It is also voice activated so the GoPro can turn on and off, record and take photos all by command as long as you have the command option on which is something I don't think the earlier GoPros could do. If you have any other questions, let me know!

Oki doke, rival.

Thanks Daranyx, that's really helpful. :) . The HERO7 is quite expensive, though. A bit out of my price range when coming from the official GoPro website. I looked around and saw a few places selling it for cheaper, but I've never seen those sources and don't exactly trust them :/ . If you have suggestions on places to find it cheaper, that'd be neat! Also still open to other camera suggestions, peeps <3
