Caden opened his liquor cabinet, flicking the light on before grabbing a glass and pouring scotch to the top of it. He took a sip to skim off the excess on the top, stepping outside and lighting a cigarette as he sipped on the drink. The familiar bitter bite of it was comforting, the man slipping his eyes shut for a moment as he sucked in a drag, blowing it out before taking the last sip in the glass. He stomped out the half remaining ciagerette, walking back inside before rinsing out the glass and heading back upstairs. Caden slid back underneath the covers, smelling faintly of liquor as he drifted off once more. |

Emily shifted in her sleep to snuggle him |

Caden had already fallen asleep, the sun starting to rise. |

Emily woke about an hour later, sitting up at the faint smell of liquor in Caden. "The fuck?" She muttered |

Caden half awoke, having slept easy as his mind put to ease, glancing over at Emily through hazy eyes. "Mnm. . . Emily?" He mumbled, propping himself up on an elbow as he rubbed at his eyes. "What is it?" |

Caden paled slightly, sighing softly as he laid back down. "Yeah. . . it wasn't much, though. Just a glass of scotch.." |

She pursed her lips, silently getting up and getting dressed. SHe didn't speak another word to him but her face said it all as she went to the garage |

Caden flopped back down, trying to think of ways to apologize without sounding sarcastic or as though he didn't mean any part of it. - I'm sorry, it won't happen again? No, I always say that and it always happens again.- He thought, darting upright when he heard Emily whisper into his ear out of nowhere. His gaze darted around the room, seeing she wasn't anywhere in sight as he continued hearing her voice in his ear. The man called out for her, seeing she was in the garage and wondering if there was something in his ear--- The voices started overlapping. Dmitri's. Viktor's. Izza's. His father's. His mother's. Caden paused, eyes wide as he heard the voice he hadn't heard in years. He spun, nothing making sense anymore as Murphy just stared at him, a figure darting around out of the corner of his eye. The man grabbed a kitchen knife out of the stand, pointing it shakily at whatever the hell that thing was. He stood there for minutes, waiting as nothing happened. "What the fuck, this is too much bullshit for a week." The man muttered, setting the blade down as a knock arrived on the door. He collected himself, slipping back into the buisnessman suit as he opened it, letting the man inside as he signaled for Murphy to greet the man, the great dane just staring back at him. "Sorry, he's trained to greet people, he. . . never hesitates." Caden noted, signaling again and Murphy glancing at the door then back at him, clearly confused. The new man chuckled, nodding his head. "I understand, I have a dog at home, he doesn't understand anything, really." He mused, both the men laughing lightly as Murphy trotted off. ~~~~~~ Murphy trotted off, tail tucked as his owner's voice continued talking to nothing. The dog turned back, looking as Caden offered a drink to nothing but air. |
