Eventually the medic finished, noting the sedation would wear off soon before leaving. Soon I awoke, everything hazy and blurry. "...Kay...?" |

Kayla waited with him. "Hey, babe. How you feeling?" She asked, Malakai asleep in her right arm while Kayla held Gale's hand with her left hand. |

"Like I'm still there," I muttered, squeezing my eyes shut. |

"Not really," I groaned into my arm, flinching as I flicked my eyes open when the medic walked in, offering an assuring smile. "Good to see your awake, Mr. 58 Lashes-and-Counting." He murmured, raising his brows as he asked me a few assessment questions before leaving. I kept quiet, the number 58 echoing over and over in my head. I looked over at Kayla for a moment, then looked at Malakai for even longer before flicking my gaze away, sighing quietly as I realized how much trouble I was about to be in. "I made a deal." |
