You should only store the equipment you use daily at the barn, and supplies for emergencies. Off-season blankets, show equipment, seasonal items, and extra tack need to be kept off-site. Take the duplicate wraps and boots home or leave them in the car, and then you can rotate for cleaning. One daily halter per horse stays at the barn. A plastic drawer bin may work for you to store some things and takes up less space than a trunk if you can put one in the tack room.

Do you ride in multiple disciplines? Are you horses about the same size?

If you don't have room elsewhere for all this extra stuff, well, you'll need to rehome some things. Facebook tack sale groups, Ebay, friends, donation to a therapeutic riding stable or rescue..

best you can do is only have there what you really need, like summer blankets you dont need them in winter do you so they can go home and be put away, in summer you put away the winter once and bring in the summer once. You only really need 2 halters per horse, 1 is what they regulary use and one just in case the other breaks, same for leads. 7 saddles for 2 horses? you only really need 1 for each horse if they not the same size ( i have 5 horses and 2 saddles lol). If you have a trailer leave it there and you can put stuff in there whilst it is unused, otherwise you could leave some stuff in your car (if you drive). Food and supliments, only ever buy what you need for 1 month with the subliments take them home and pack them up at home in what you need weekly and then the weekly bag you take into the barn and leave it there, you could do the same with the food. Its what i did before i had my own barn, even though i didnt have food due to the barn i was they offered really good food (3 different kinds of choice).

Saddle horses are a great idea, or if the barn is open to you doing some “renovating”, a rack screwed into the wall works a great, and you can often get ones with hooks too so you can hang bridles, headstalls, etc.
A rug rack on the door is good for rugs and saddlecloths, but if either of your boys is a chewer/pick-up-and-player then might not be the best idea!
Also, a filing cabinet is a good idea. Remove the drawers, or keep them, and use it to store miscellaneous gear. Works a treat and looks organised, haha!
Wheelie bins are always good for storing feed, also.

Some other related (sorta) barn tips:
- remove yourself from barn drama!
- don’t believe anybody’s opinion about anyone (in my experience, people can be unnecessarily venomous about each other in agistment barns)
- do what you know is best for your boys and ignore the barn vets and trainers unless they actually ARE vets and trainers xD
- LABEL your stuff! Put your name on your stuff to avoid it getting borrowed and not returned

As you know, Polly has only ever been in an agistment barn and I have worked in several so I know some tricks ;)
