<div align="center"> → C H A P T E R O N E ← <div align="center"> <div align="left"> The wind blew through the forest. The night sky was covered in clouds. The air was thick and smelt gross. I ran through the forest, jumping over ditches, fallen trees or streams. I sucked the air in and out quickly. I came to a stop. Was I far enough away? Had I escaped it? Was I free? Even if I wanted to, I couldn't have run anymore. The adrenaline had worn off. I collapsed to the ground and leaned against a tree. Instantly, I fell asleep. <div align="left">
<div align="left"> I awoke. I was back! I had been brought back! Wait, I heard the slick, raspy voices. <div align="left"> "Africa, Asia, Europe and Australia have been demolished," a muffled, non-human like voice echoed. "Where shall we strike next?"<div align="left"> "Canada," another voice responded. It had a superior ton to it. The word swept over me. Canada was my home country, my family lived there! I had just escaped this place and gotten back to the safety of my country, and now they we're going to destroy it along with everyone who lived there. Just like they had the other countries. They had promised me, though, they had promised. Suddenly a big hand grabbed me. I saw the big, glowing, beady eyes and the big, pointed tooth grin that stretched across it's face.<div align="left">
<div align="left"> "NO!" I jolted forward and found I was still in the deep, dense forest. But I wasn't alone. <div align="left">

<div align="center">→ C H A P T E R T W O ←<div align="left">I heard distance crunches on sticks and leaves on the forest floor. It was nearly morning, the sun was finding it's way up and over the mountains. I must be near British Columbia. The forests where thick, covered with moss and massive fallen trees, the ground shot up then eased back down. <div align="left">I had to move. I jumped up, adrenaline the only thing keeping me going. I was about to cry. Fear, anger, sadness all welled up inside wanting to explode. I tried to swallow it and ran through the woods silently. I jumped a log only to find it led to a cliff that went straight down. I slid down the cliff trying to hold in the pain as branches and rocks scraped against my skin. I stopped and took a deep breath. Nothing was broken. Suddenly, something dawned on me. Where was I going? I was lost, obviously but where should I head to? I needed to find a city or even a small town. But those beasts are looking for me, I reminded myself, they would probably be searching cities already, holding people captive until they found me. Why me? Maybe because I knew how - I stopped myself from letting that thought expand. I hoisted myself up, finding my clothes were more torn than ever before and I was bleeding quite a lot. I ripped of a sleeve of my shirt, or what was left of my sleeve, and wrapped it around my leg then tied it tightly.
<div align="left">I reached a river where I jumped in, greedily sucking in the water, drinking as much as I could. I washed myself off as well then continued at a slow jog. My chest felt as if it had been stabbed, it ached with a burning pain. I could taste blood in my throat and my feet were so sore they had almost gone numb but that didn't stop me. Forward, forward, never look back. After a long time, I stopped at a tree to rest. I gasped air in and out trying to catch my breath. My hands were pale, the knuckles bright red. I could see my veins. I needed food and rest. I had blocked out the pain as I was running and it came in such a wave I fell to the ground and watched my vision slowly grow blurry and then almost black. Everything was cloudy, I was only half aware of my surroundings. I blinked once. When my eyes opened I saw my most brutal living nightmare in front of me. I tried to scream and kick but my body lay in a helpless, unresponsive heap.<div align="left">

<div align="left" style="text-align: center;">→ C H A P T E R T H R E E ←<div align="left" style="text-align: center;">
<div align="left" style="text-align: left;">I watched as the beast picked me up with so little effort and began to carry to me. I didn't have to wonder where, I knew already. So many other unpleasant thoughts and emotions flooded my brain. Fear was biting at me and anger was screaming to be let out but still, my body lay unresponsive. I wanted to cry, the sting of tears crying to come out was becoming more noticeable. The beast kept carrying the way a groom would carry his bride. Finally I could lift my head and look at the ugly face of the beast above me. An alien. One of only thousands. These ugly, aliens where bald with slimy, pitch black skin. They had legs and torso like a normal human but the feet where like big duck feet and their arms were twisted. They could morph between hands, wings and tentacles. Their face had no mouth yet they spoke in raspy, un-human voices. The spot where the mouth should be was just slimy skin. They had a nose that was pushed into their face and big, massive, evil eyes. They stared at you and penetrated your deepest, darkest secrets. Standing at roughly just over 8ft, these giant monsters were incredibly strong and were quickly taking over the world. They had cut out WiFi, phone lines, satellites, anything people could contact each other with. What was remaining of humanity was currently oblivious. It had been two weeks since these beasts had captured me. Why? I had known what was going on and was about to tell and save the world. Now, they are forcing me to destroy it.

This is excellent! I always enjoy when a writer starts out giving lots of details, but really leaving you in the dark. Definitely will be following this beauty!
