I like starting with groups of level ones, too. Lower rider fees, and you might have to be patient until they train enough but that's the same with all of them anyway

Hey guys! It's Wolf <3 Sooo, as I'm starting to navigate the new waters of going into my last year of high-school/ looking at colleges, I know sports is something I would love to continue in college, however I'm somewhat at a loss for how to approach the next steps, I've done quite a bit of research but different sources say different things. From the majority of what I've seen, the best approach is the athleate reaching out to the coach, but for sports such as track, where there are different events, would it be better to reach out to the head coach or the specific event coach? And what are coaches specifically looking for? I don't have the best marks from track this past spring becuase I only had 3 weeks to train, becuase I had major abdominal surgery, my colon twisted (same thing as colic) and went septic. Long story short, they found my colon twisted, went septic, and we caught it barely in time, a couple of hours more I would have been dead from the septic poisioning/twist. So I sorta had my track season ruined, but managed to pull off a league and section title, and 3rd at the state qualifying meet.
I don't know if any of yall are in the admissions part, or have any knowledge from applying or just general tips, but I figured I'd shoot my shot since we have quite a diverse community!

I don't know what track coaches in particular look for, but reaching out to the head coach could at worst give them the chance to direct you to the right one :)

True, but if I do reach out, then do I reach out specifically for my event (Pole Vault) or with my main event and sub-main events? And what do you think they are looking for?

Would talking to your current coach be the first step? They know you and your record and should have knowledge of schools or connections. It sounds like your school has a prolific program, so your coach should help establish a line of communication with colleges.
Not exactly sure of the etiquette but I would think an introduction through your coach to their coach would be the way to go.

I googled "how to get a sport scholarship" and it came up with some good resources right away:
