He took a deep breath and slowly started back down the trail, knowing he should get back to the herd. If West knew foals... Aurora would be telling everyone for the next three days on how the leader was super slow and he didn't say why when Aurora asked. West wrinkled his nose slightly, continuing down the trail tail he got to the bottom, then walking over to the water and taking a deep drink. He raised his dripping muzzle answer glanced around, making sure everyone was okay

Dixie watched West out of the corner of her eye as she stood near the waters edge, taking a small sip. she shook her mane, her forelock hitting her head and falling over the wrong eye, the brown one. she always had her long forelock covering her blue eye. she was embarrased by it. everyone thought she had brown eyes because they never saw her blue one. Dixie quickly tossed her forelock back over her blue eye and snorted softly. -courage... i need courage- she thought as she turned her head towards West. "hello..." she said. no one knew what her voice was like either. technically, she was so shy that no one knew her at all

West glanced over to the mare, turning slightly. He tried to remember her... this was the one that seemed to hate him, always avoiding him or snorting at him... or rolling her eyes at him... and the one that never talked. West tilted his head slightly. "Hi.." he answered, slightly cautiously.

"i'm Dixie..." she said then added:"you probably already know that though..." she dropped her eyes. first time she had ever talked. she was still scarred by her previous herd members, but she was trying to open up

"It is nice to meet you Dixie, and I did not know that. I am 100 percent sure you do know I'm West." West smiled, nodding at her. "I'm happy I got to make your acquaintance. May I ask why we have not met before?" West asked slowly, not wanting to scare her away but vaguely wondering why she steered clear of him... and everyone else

"my previous herd was... not the best... part of the reason that i don't trust stallions and mares both..." her brown eye glistened in the light shining off of the water, her blue eye catching the glint and shimmering through her forelock.

"Ohh... well I am very sorry. I hope this herd is better." West said quietly, turning his gaze away to look at the rest of the herd. Her blue eye caught his gaze... but he decided to ignore it, knowing it would probably make her... even more unhappy. He shifted his weight, letting the sun warm his back

Moon grazed for hours, shifting from place to place, sometimes getting a drink from the stream, sometimes lying down under a tree before getting up to eat more. She was B. O. R. E. D. BORED. Why wasn't there something to do?! she often thought, shaking her mane.

(Sorry, i went to bed early) Mystery calmed down when she heard the two hosrse offer, once they left she went towards the herd, nervous, but grateful she hopefully didn't have to see... Him again

Dixie lowered her head a little in respect of the stallion. she tossed her head slightly when she saw his eyes looking at her blue one. she gulped as she eyed him. "i don't mind if you ask about my... irregular eye" she said softly. it was a sore subject but she decided she wanted to open up to someone for once since she never could get the courage to talk to anyone. -yeah, Dixie, start with the lead stallion... such a smart choice... if he doesn't like you, then everyone else will follow his lead and it'll be last herd all over again- then she counteracted herself: -why does it matter if he likes me? if he chooses a lead mare, it would probably be Phantom... anyone but me- she dropped her eyes and looked at her reflection in the water, her blue eye shining through her forelock
