It just means your horse have a rating good enough to enter it. The studbook doesnt actually do anything

A quarter horse or maybe a paint horse would be nice. If you can find an older Arabian or maybe 17-20. I'm leasing an Arabian and she can be very quick but also gentle and loves bareback rides.

While breeding has something to do with attitude, I have two lovely OTTBs, one recently retired from the track and the other we've had for ten years. Both are safe, sane and lovely horses to be around. The one we've had for ten years hasn't had any vet bills other than jabs and the occasional checkup. On the other hand, I have an ISH who is an absolute nutcase. Lovely, but a frootloop. I've had a few cobby types be the same. Honestly, breed doesn't play that much of a factor. If you find a nice horse, who is everything you want, go for it regardless of breed. Same goes for mares v geldings. Both can be equally as nice.

OH my god, $9 a bale?! Here in CA average price is about $28-$30. I get is for about the same s you as I have a friend who grows it, but still. I might need to move to Ohio xD But yeah, they are extremely expensive. My horse was free by sheer luck, but he has his issues, mainly from a bad farrier. They are not at all easy to take care of.
I don't know where you live, but where I am(Ohio) I currently pay $9 per bale just to have quality hay.

$28-$30 a bale 😮 $9 is considered extremely expensive here for small bales. We used to pay $4-$5.

round bales or square?
